Others Crossman Icon PCP Recall

Spoke with Crosman today. Called 800 number on recall letter. Very nice gentleman who I have had many conversations with and he has helped me with parts for my other builds in the past. We spoke about the ICON and he could not or would not say why they were recalled. He did say they were being returned and no parts sent out to repair them. He said he did not know if they would be repaired or refunded but he did tell me to remove any mods (breech and shroud ) I had added to my rifles and he sent me 2 UPS return labels so I could return both rifles. Not looking like they are repairing them but has anyone else heard anything?

I'm calling to get my return labels as well. Did he say what and when compensation will be? Or if there's a waiting period for returning funds or credit?

On the other forums some one said the BARRA 1100Z rifles have the same issue as the ICON with the burp when tap buttstock on floor. They reported there have been reports from BARRA oeners but I have found no articles. Can you try to bump your BARRA unloaded and uncocked to see if it does it ? If not I may have to purchase 1 to see what the difference is as it looks like all internals are the same as the ICON.

My Barra 1100Z in 22 did not burp at all and I tried it 3 times from 3 to 4 inches onto a hard floor onto the butt stock with no carpeting. So I guess I got a good one as far as the burping thing is concerned. So that's great!

Thank you. I have not heard anyone with the BARRA 110Z complain or state theirs does it. If it had a wood stock I might order one to tinker with.

Dogowski--No he was very vague stating all he knew was they were to be shipped back. Not sure if repairs are being done or just refunds. I will wait to see what others have to say before sending mine back.

True .. any aftermarket stuff you should remove and return the item as bought stock new .. it may also void your claim if you don't as well / tampering..

I might just keep my Icon as I won the barrel lottery on this one. Unless the discovery in the lawsuit is about an explosion situation that's deadly of course. It just shoots too good for an inexpensive PCP! With the Buck-Rail moderator on it's whisper quiet. And the barrel band from them keeps the groups tight. Jury is still out on whether I'll keep it or not. Pardon the pun. Lol

Pa got them on sale do it's not like there so bad there pulled from the market.

Just seems they got a bad run and tried to sell them off fast on that 129$ deal and come back to bite them ...
