Hi guys
Bought my first Crosman out here in the UK, Ive zero knowledge of the Crosman brand and would like to ask for some help with this 21 Challenger

Its running around 5ftlb 575fps with 7grain hobby, Id like to find a diagram or schematic as I think Ill be stripping it to solve a little issue of a low powered shot (400fps) every now and again, one or two per 25card which will ruin scores

Any tips, tricks setting these up welcome as Im sure this is a keeper and Id like to be able to service it myself, I might even use it for hft and run it around 10ftlb for that discipline, sadly I cannot find anything here in the UK.

Regards

Chris

Can anyone point me in the direction of a full schematic of the 21on challenger

Ive mailed Crosman directly but no reply as yet, not sure how good their customer service is so I thought Id ask here too

There is an EVP for the CH2021. I think it is on the website. You can always reach out to customer service.

The first thing I would check is the hammer and hammer pocket. Early on we had an issue with an assembler adding to much grease to the hammer causing it to not move correctly. We have not seen this issue since we updated the work instructions. That doesn't mean it couldn't happen though.

The other thing to check is the regulator vent hole. It is located an inch or so on the trigger pack side of the gauge. When the tube is built, the super O lube can build up in the regulator as it is installed. This is rare but has happened. You can take a pick or paper clip and just slide it into the hole and back out. Test the velocity again and see if that fixes it.

John, thanks for your input! As the designer of the Challenger 2021, it's a privilege to have you helping-out customers in the HAM Community :D (y)

Thank you for your reply and information 👍🏼

We can’t find any info on the Crosman site, not even the owners manual

It’s only been a week so hopefully Crosman reply and give us the schematic and part numbers so we can order spares before taking this apart

Our importer has zero info and advised we contact Crosman directly.

Also would there be a silencer adapter with rail for front site as our range requires silencers

Even for something low-powered like a 10m target rifle? I know my pumpers and 3622 can/will be relatively loud, but not a 10m gun. Or is your range in that built up of an area?

Its a business on a farm but there’s one house nearby that complains to the authorities and the owners of the range have made the ruling to comply with noise, its sub12 air only and is open 24/7 365 so some target stuff is quite loud especially at nighttime.
The rule ruined my hft500 as that just lost accuracy with anything on the barrel apart from a stripper, the 9015 was much the same, but at least we have a local indoor range(s) with one at 35yd and the other at 50.
The UK seems to be going through social changes where the minority control the majority 🤐

Also as a newbie Crosman owner Id like to know any tips or tricks tuning and tweaking the Challenger

Id like to remove Hammer to check Johns suggestion of grease, is there a strip link anywhere

Regards

Chris

Check Donny FL for an adapter that will screw directly to the end of the Challenger barrel. As for a moderator or very effective air stripper, contact Old Spook on many of the public forums. In fact, I’ll contact him and forward a direct link to this thread.

Here is my Challenger with some eye candy aluminum fasteners and the adapter/moderator I referred to.
