I'm thinking about buying a ch2021. I've been studying the parts catalog but I'm looking for a copy of the owners manual too. Can anyone provide it or direct me to a link. Thank you

Thanks. Maybe as a last resort. I hate asking small businesses for free help. It's surprising that the 2021 has been out for 4 years and the owners manual has never been put on the net. I can nearly understand why crosman doesn't want to make the evp available but denying access to the owners manual doesn't make sense.

I'm still in research mode. I've never spent that much on a gun. The ham review says the transfer port is adjustable and I see a velocity adjustment screw on the valve. Can that be accessed externally? That got me curious about the prospect adjustment and there's no evp for it either. Bummer. Those resources is usually one of the reasons I like crosman.

With the stock transfer port you can only get about 650FPS with a 8.2g pellet. The stock needs to be removed to make adjustments to the valve meter screw. These are designed for JrROTC (highschoolers) and we want to make it a little difficult to make adjustments. If they go above 600 FPS they would be disqualified at a competition.

If you need more energy out of the Challenger, check out the Airgun revisions FT model. It is set around 19 FPE (10.5g pellet around 880-900 FPS).

The prospect has a transfer port shut off that allows you to limit the airflow to slow the pellet down. It works well. The Challenger will be more accurate but it limited to .177 and no mag. The Prospect has a mag and available in .22.

Very cool response. Thank you. I'm only at 7 yards indoors so I would be toying with slowing it down. 450 shots?! My eyes can barely make out a half inch at that distance but I am really enjoying open site, off hand shooting. The ch2021 looks like a great option.

With a good tune on the CH2021 you can get 350-450 shots per fill. It would be a perfect rifle for 7 yards in the basement.

I am very, very biased though!
