BRK Ranger XR2 Compact Now At AoA

The new BRK Ranger XR2 Compact is now in stock at Airguns of Arizona. Available in .177, .22 and .25 calibers, it’s selling for $1,695.99.

The Ranger XR2 Compact is a part of the expanded Ranger line that the British company first showed at the 2026 British Shooting Show.

The XR2 Compact’s goal is to deliver true ultra-compact performance with an improved shot count compared to the original model., It retains the signature folding stock that makes it ideal for urban pest control, tight spaces, backpacking, and as the ultimate “truck gun.”

The performance is ideal for many pest control applications, combining adequate power with a strong shot count for the diminutive size.

For example, in .177 caliber, the Compact delivers up to 120 shots at the low setting of the the power adjuster/spring adjustment with 8.4 Grain JSB pellets shooting at around 612 FPS.

Up to 13.5 Ft/Lbs is available with both the above settings set to high. That represents about 30 shots around 770 FPS with 10.3 Grain JSB pellets. With 8.4 Grain ammo on high settings on high you get 40 shots at around 810 FPS.

In fact there’s two power adjusters. The side-mounted, three-position power selector controls the transfer port for coarse changes. There’s also a 12-step hammer spring adjuster for fine-tuning power levels.

Overall length varies between 27 1/2 and 30 7/8 Inches long (depending on the stock extension chosen). The length of pull varies likewise between 15 3/4 and 19 Inches.

Base weight is just under 6 Lbs. There’s not many PCP air rifles that are smaller and lighter than this!

The 60 cc HPA tube fills to a maximum 3,625 PSI (250 bar). Of course, there’s an adjustable, two-stage trigger and easy sidelever cocking.

As can be seen from the photographs, a compact riflescope such as the MTC Copperhead 3-12×44 AMD2 is ideal for use on the Ranger XR2 Compact.

HAM hopes to be testing one soon!

Bottle vs tube for higher shot count. The hammer adjustment wheel on the Ranger XR2 is sweet though.
so how many shots do you need if your hunting you defiantly dont need a bottle and this isnt the best choice for a bench gun so I am at a loss?
I hunt and I SO NOT like bottle gun from looks to balance to weight I just hate them and if I was on the bench I would teather.

please elaberate?

To me the Pathfinder is a great all around short distance plinking and small game hunting rifle, so I appreciate being able to pack it away and pull it out multiple times without worrying about refilling. I have a Commander XR in 177 that shoots sub 12 ftlbs and I get literally hundreds of shots before needing to refill. The convenience is worth the extra weight and bulk.

lol I’d rather have a $293 Umarex Komplete in .25 cal…. 54fpe, weighs 5lbs and gets 35 shots on a 130cc cylinder. No folding stock but that’s not hard to fix, I’m handy.

Will the trigger be as nice? Nope, will it have a nice hammer spring adjuster? Nope… but $1600 for a “truck gun” getting 13fpe is practically criminal in this economy.

Idk if I’m missing something about these Daystate/BRK guns but my money is on hype because I have yet to see a spec sheet that comes close to justifying half the price of what they charge for these things.

your comparing apple to oranges
frist the biuld qaulity on the BRK guns is way way over the cheap imports
and second your comparing the energy of a .25 cal to a .17 cal and thats not a fair assessment.
if you look at the BRK Ranger XR2 Compact in a .25 cal you see its coming in at a MUCH higher FPE and if you want to jack it up I am sure you can get more. I dont know what the limits and or the shot count would be and that would be a concinderation, but in a .22 cal ( what I like ) I have plenty of power and plenty of shots and I dont have to buy cylinders?

You work in a machine shop 🙄😂😂

Did you not do work on all your Airguns how much would it cost for one of us to do that? Those who do not have free or discounted access, equipment or skills?

I seem to remember you machining an LW barrel and a lot more 🤨

No bro, some of us with the means choose to pay a little bit more upfront. Your constant bashing of Daystate/BRK reminds me of someone else on here about a BW ultimately, they told on themselves just really wanted the rifle but didn’t want to pay.

I own an Atomic (x2), Ghost Carbine and Pathfinder. The PCP currently hogging all the action? My Pathfinder, like you I find it to be a sweet little PCP. And it compares nicely to my Atomics in size. That said the Ranger XR2 Compact looks like a sweet winner in my eyes.

I respect your opinion. But “your money is on BRK hype?” BRKs if anything are “under sung” they are simply reliable, solidly built PCPs. For me they have proven themselves over five different models. Unbox, scope and got to shooting, I guess I’m lucky…🙏

I knew you would chime in on here ;).I agree BRK's are under sung. They're about as expensive as other high end airguns, right around $1,700 - $2,300. I don't think they advertise or pay sponsors on this side of the pond so they're not as "sexy" as RAW or FX. RAW gets a lot of credit for dead simple and reliable, which is probably deserved. BRK's are for us hipsters 😜

On the quality of the build for BRK - they are second to none in durability, with the exception of the equally robust Evols. I personally filmed Jessica at Iguana Solutions and watched her bash around the Pathfinder, Atomic, and Concept Lite around while hunting iguanas. Before she did brand collaborations with BRK/Brocock she bought a few rifles until she landed on the brand, and the reason she chose the brand was because they were the toughest airgun to be had. Funny story here: she dropped the Atomic off of a roof top while shooting iguanas and it landed hard on the grass below. When she came down off the the roof I showed some concern for the drop and she said something to the likes of "Done it a million times I don't care, it's fine." And it held its zero the very next shot. All this to say, the reason 90% of my sales for BRK have been to working individuals is because of their tank like properties, and those properties are not present in $300 airguns that I have found.

The second point I'd make about the BRK/Brocock brand: second to none in warranty and parts support. England does a great job at supplying parts like no other brand. Nothing is worse from a consumer standpoint than getting an airgun you paid your hard earned money for and learning that the parts are no longer available because it's China's last year model. The philosophy of Daystate/BRK is to provide a superior product, and their warranty is part of that product. There is a reason BRK has a three year warranty (and even after that parts are still available). The sister company, Daystate, has a five year!

Consumers have the weigh all these things and ultimately the price tag they are willing to pay in their minds. Sometimes that means a $300 rifle. Sometimes it is a $5000 rifle. But for the price the BRK line seems entirely justified per the quality and warranty.
