Jörg, thanks for the clarification! The Baracuda (Match) is designed for velocities in the 800 fps range. When it was first introduced to the market, air guns rarely had a muzzle energy over 30 ft-lbs.
ahhh so that why my Ghost didn't get along with them! The Baracuda (Match) is designed for velocities in the 800 fps range. When it was first introduced to the market, air guns rarely had a muzzle energy over 30 ft-lbs.
I tried them in my S510 unfortunately they did not agree with each other.ahhh so that why my Ghost didn't get along with them!On minimum it was still well past 900fps. Now I'm excited to sling em in the S510! She sends 18gr @880/890 so these ought to shoot well @800-850!? Will post my results here when I do

That is interesting and was completely unaware of that. I'll be giving them a try again in some lower powered 22s.The Baracuda (Match) is designed for velocities in the 800 fps range. When it was first introduced to the market, air guns rarely had a muzzle energy over 30 ft-lbs.
Lol just saw this now as I'm rereading the post....yeah it appears JSB and AA guns are just made for each other! Same goes for my .177 TX. They seem to shoot most pellets well but JSB comes out ahead every time.I tried them in my S510 unfortunately they did not agree with each other.![]()
Didi you try the H&N Baracuda 18 as well?Well the S510 still loves the JSB 18.13s the best. 32FPE shooting the 21.14gr between 828 to 835FPS. A grey Squirrel foolishly showed up @ 25 Yards between me and the target box and the H&N made quick work of em. But these won't be my go-to for hunting.
You know what I have been meaning to try them! I plan to do a large 18gr battle someday outta that gun... Hornets, and Hunter Extremes were very decent outta the S510 and I have since bought a few tins of each.Didi you try the H&N Baracuda 18 as well?
I tried them in my S510, and I found that my rifle significantly preferred the JSB 18s. However, my Umarex Origin would shoot the 18s fairly consistently to 35y.Didi you try the H&N Baracuda 18 as well?
lol I'll go with that thenI tried them in my S510, and I found that my rifle significantly preferred the JSB 18s. However, my Umarex Origin would shoot the 18s fairly consistently to 35y.
Just remember that mine can somewhat shoot CPHP‘s and yours can’t every rifle is an individual. I wouldn’t see the harm and trying the H&N 18s.lol I'll go with that thenI do not know why thay is the case but I chalk it up to possibly H&Ns lead being harder and therefore seating less nicely In the barrel as they fly through? And secondly JSB head sizes are just alittle bit thicker. Unless it's just the stock that is available in Canada...
