Others Ascent moderator and Adaptor for .25 caliber

I saw on a short video clip that @PapaT had added a moderator to the Air Venturi Ascent after installing a Donny Fl adaptor that also works on other Air Venturi air rifles. I was wondering if he has the time to talk a little about it here. Was it worth it, as in was it effective? Was it easy to get into the end of the shroud to get the adaptor in? What moderators would be effective? I have read that some moderators can adversely affect performance, and I note that they can be quite expensive. I wouldn't mind shelling out on a more expensive one as I only shoot one gun at a time, and should i get another large caliber gun I could use it on that. What amuses me is that I can see that an adaptor and moderator could end up costing me more than the gun did! Anyway, any moderator advice by Papa T, or others, will be gratefully read and appreciated. Thanks.

I did in fact add a moderator, this requires removing the factory air stripper and installing the donnyfl adapter (or an equivalent setup), then installing a normal 1/2x20UNF threaded moderator. I put the adapter and buckrail moderator from my Avenger onto the Ascent, but I have not had the time to test things like I wished to. I expect it to work out well, because it did for my Avenger. I am hoping to have time again one of these days, so that I can sound and accuracy test the rifle again with the moderator installed, before I move to my 22 and then 177 barrels and testing them.

The downside is, I scratched the finish trying to get the factory air stripper off (same with my Avenger barrel). Additionally, it is terribly inconvenient (and/or adds up in cost) if you swap barrels as you have to go through the process again.

I have considered getting the over the barrel collet style moderator from buck-rail, as swapping that would be far more convenient between barrels. I hope this slice of my experience helps.
