A range of Apolo pellets and slugs is now available at Pyramyd AIR.

Apolo pellets first gained a mention in Hard Air Magazine back in our IWA Show report from 2018. That was the first time that the family business from Argentina had exhibited in the primary European trade show for the outdoor sports.

As with RWS, Apolo grades its pellets and slugs by quality. The company has three quality “lines”, “Air Boss”, “Premium” and “Standard”. Here’s how Apolo describes them…

Apolo Pellets And Slugs: Air Boss Line

The highest quality pellets, the quality of these products lies in the individual selection of each one, which is why they are used for competition and training. They are characterized by their precise groupings and impacts.

Apolo Pellets And Slugs: Premium Line

High quality pellets, correct finish due to its stamping manufacturing process. Depending on each model, they can be used for hunting, fun and training.

Apolo Pellets And Slugs: Estandar (Standard) Line

Inexpensive pellets, used mainly for fun, aiming, and training of future hunters.

Company Background

Apolo has been manufacturing airgun pellets since 2001. Currently the company says that they are manufacturing 60,000 pellets a month and that they are available in 42 countries around the world.

Over the years, the family has made significant investments in machinery and infrastructure. These important upgrades have vastly improved manufacturing quality, capacity, and processes to accommodate the large U.S. market, explains the company.

In addition, Apolo has also earned ISO 9001/2015 certification for its quality management systems. In addition, it is an IRAM Environmental accredited facility – a particularly important accreditation given that Apolo’s airgun pellets and slugs are (primarily) manufactured from recycled lead.

The range of Apolo pellets and slugs is extensive. It includes conventional lead pellets in wadcutter, domed and pointed configurations. Copper-coated versions of some designs are also available.

Heavy weight, special purpose hunting pellets also feature in the range. Plus, of course, there’s slugs, too.

Pellet calibers range from .177 cal right up to .50 caliber. In addition, Apolo is also manufacturing slugs in .22 and .25 calibers.

You can see the complete range by looking at the Apolo catalog.

I purchased a few different 177 apolo pellets a couple years ago and couldn't get them to group any better than Crosman hollow points. Mainly tried them in my avenger but also a couple of other break barrels I have. To be fair I've Also tried a couple different H&N pellets with similar not great results. The best pellets through my avenger so far are the 10.5 Crosman. I now have some jsb 10.5 and 13. Whatever grain to try further to see if I can get them to work.

I have found that between those three; 10.5 Crosman, 10.5 JSB, 13 JSB, if one isn't a winner there is probably a problem with the gun somewhere.

Hey man welcome to the forum. Have you tried some AEA or JSB pellets yet? May take a while to find one that groups best!

I’ve shot the 33gr and 40gr slugs out of my Barra 250z… probably not getting enough fps out of it to push the 40s long range but I absolutely smacked a jackrabbit at 35-40 last night. 40gr to the back of the head was instant lights out….

The 33gr shoot beautiful out of my gun though. Don’t know what the BC is on these things but it must be good cuz even out to 150+ I can plink accurately without too much drop. This and the 34 gr H&N hp 2 have been the best two shooters so far.
