Others Airgun range only possible

I may have the opportunity coming up to set up a airgun only range in Nottingham, Pa. I am trying to get into PCP for fun(stress relief), and pest control. I am just curious as to how many fellow airguners may be interested. There is a good chance at up to 200 yards. This will depend on the Township in the end. I am just putting out feelers for feedback. Thanks all

We have what we call "range-day" competitions to keep us sharp. The community keeps the range in tip-top condition out of pride. We even have picnic tables for non-shooting fun. I am working with a customer who has some property there,and he is open to the possibility. This is all just as a idea,it will depend on how many other people are interested. He is opening a salvage yard for car parts in September/October. There is approximately 20 acres, of which he is only going to be using 8 acres at this time.

I hope we get something. All local shooting ranges that I use to shoot at will not let me in with an air rifle. What is up with that. I got very involved in air rifles because I had cancer in my spine. I can't have any recoil. Now my hobby seems to come to and end. Why invest money in a rifle when I can't fire it? It seems my fun is over. I survived cancer but with the limitations on what I can do is rough. I am asking myself did i survive?

Yes . . . You are a surviver! I too am a cancer surviver, as well as a left leg above the knee amputee. Am I handicapped? Absolutely not, I simply face different challenges than some other people. How we meet our challenges is all about the attitude we face them with. Yesterday I spent 3 hours out on the range, carrying rifle cases, setting up paper targets and even pulling weeds out on the range. Why you may ask . . . I carry my own range equipment and pull the weeds because I take pride in both equipment and range, as well as myself. Challenges? Yep . . . I set 'em up and knock 'em down. At 76 years of age, I meet the challenges of life and knock them down with a smile. You can too. Don't look over your shoulder. . . eyes forward to meet the steps ahead with a joyful spirit. Yes you survived, and undoubtedly that was filled with many, many rough moments. But here you are.

You unquestionably love to shoot, absolutely NO reason you should have to give it up, none.

So, where do you live? Perhaps someone near you could offer advice on where you can enjoy your Airgun(s).

I'm curious did they give a reason for no airguns on their range? I definitely find that odd.....anyways All the best and welcome to HAM! You can go as close as 10M air pistols or 200M+ long range, hopefully you can find somewhere to shoot! I am curious though....would not a .22LR shooting subsonic be low enough recoil for you maybe as well?

Unfortunately, I am still waiting on the Township to give the go ahead. Even with a gated entrance, they are concerned about someone shooting firearms. SAD. I can still use a .22 here on pests,but they are dragging their feet over this in a much more rual area.

They said no pellet rifles. I called all the ranges outdoor and indoor. If you want i can give you the range and phone number.

Most of the local clubs are at their max capacity, with long waiting lists. Then there is the sponsor thing,background check,and such. Not many larger farms to even try to set things up on. As soon as half the people see anything like a gun period, they are on the phone.

My mortgage is almost paid off and my neighbors are ok with guns, we vote conservative around here thankfully. In fact I told all of them if they see me walking around with one it's an air rifle and I'm just pesting or target practicing, etc. Figured it was better than them wondering/worrying. I planted over 100 trees when I bought the place, now its nice n private. But if I got flack from em or wasn't allowed legally to shoot em on my own property I'd be 100% moving. In fact I'm one minute away from a gun club myself. Wonder if they'd let air rifles in Now I'm curious!
