Others ๐–ฃ  What do I need for XLR โ€” eXtreme Long Range?

๐–ฃ  What do I need for XLR โ€” eXtreme Long Range? ๐–ฃ

After several years of dreaming about it...

...I just had the privilege to purchase the
๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—”๐—–๐—›๐—˜๐—ฅ โ€”
the gun that reaches far โ€”
to extreme long ranges โ€” XLR.

โ–ช๏ธŽThanks to a kind AGN member who sold "the ๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—”๐—–๐—›๐—˜๐—ฅ" to me.
โ–ช๏ธŽThanks to Derrick Wall who masterfully tuned it.
โ–ช๏ธŽThanks to God who allowed my airgun journey to go thus far.

With Altaros Queen 60gr slugs
(.25cal, 0.245BC [G1])
the ๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—”๐—–๐—›๐—˜๐—ฅ reportedly averages
1.1" at 100y.
(With an expert shooter pulling the trigger!!)

I am NO expert โ€” I have never done any serious shooting beyond 100y, and even that was more haphazardly.
So, call me "XLR-ignorant," and you'd score a 10 X on the card.

Leaving wind calls, extreme spread, and turret click validation aside for now:
๐Ÿ”บ โฎ• I need advice what I as a shooter need to to do shoot 300y and 400y.

At 300y I'd like to hit a moa circle โ€” 3.5" (9cm) โ€” at least 3 times out of 10 shots.

๐Ÿ”ธ What about recoil with a powerful .25cal?
(Note that I have no relevant firearm experience.)

๐Ÿ”ธ Is a bipod OK, or do I need a sand bag?

๐Ÿ”ธ Do I need to "load" the bipod, or let the gun recoil freely? How do I do that?

๐Ÿ”ธ What about my breathing?

๐Ÿ”ธ What about "gun hold"?

๐Ÿ”ธ Anything else you can think of?

โœบ Thanks for schooling me, I have no-one else around me for this.

โžง In fact: I might be the only nutcase in this country attempting to shoot at these ranges with an airgun..... ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Well allow me to assist you as much as i am able. First 25 cal has enough recoil to notice especially pushing 60 gr. Say slightly more than 22 with 34 gr pellet. Bipod and bag should work if you are really used to them the big thing is practice, practice, Practice next big thing is wind the big equalizer. If were you i would practice @ 100 with pellets and that will be a bit like shooting the altaros at 250-300 yds. Shoot between heart beets breath before shoot while exhaling alot of your practice will help you learn what you need to do but it probably will take a bit if you arenโ€™t a decent shot now. Keep asking questions we will try to help!
