Greetings from Ohio fellow HAMster! Like others have said, What do you want to do? Casual plinking, serious target work, pesting, hunting, or a combo? Casual plinking, it's hard to beat an Adult Red Rider/Marlin "lever".

You enter tournaments. That's where you spend money. A group I'm a member of has a Euchre tournament in February. It's a big money raiser for us.

Check dealer/repair shop sites. Maybe a local 3D printer enthusiast?
