Ghog missed opportunity…🤬

Was sitting on my back porch after a plinking session with my Pathfinder and simply glassing through my scope. When lo, a woodchuck appears at 60 yards! A known range to me, I pull back on the lever? “No pellets left!” I felt like Elmer Fudd in the Bugs Bunny cartoon. Of course it didn’t stick around while I fumbled for my pellet tin…🙈

That’s the classic Backwoods Murphy's Law right there! It works every single time, no matter where you are.

You can spend days tuning your rifle, matching your camo, and waiting for the perfect weather window. You step outside fully geared up - and the woods are a total ghost town. Absolutely barren. Not even a squirrel barking.

But the moment you go for a casual walk completely unarmed, or sitting on your porch with an empty pellet tin - boom. The entire local game cookbook shows up to put on a show. Turkeys strutting, whitetails staring at you with that mocking squint, and groundhogs basically posing for a magazine cover at 60 yards because they know you're just clicking an empty lever. They can definitely smell an empty tin from a mile away!

L.L. ,Well you still have some warm weather ahead , maybe you'll get another chance. I took #117 Ghog yesterday after it warmed up. I may still hit the hay fields more, but the farmer is harvesting soybeans now & I'm staying away from the noise & dust!
