Vitals for the win....and I will beat this dead horse!
Dropped on the spot, 40Y just turned & was facing me, was going to be a shoulder shot. He just finished planting yet another walnut into my lawn.
My Ghost has a 'squirrelly' cold shot or two and I am currently burning through some 20gr lights on min settings till they are gone so i was impressed.
Pellet never exited, just what I prefer!

Only tree squirrels here. Head shots are definitely preferred but those b$st$rds don’t usually stay still for even a second so more often than not chest shots are what you can hope for. Some ridiculously tough animals. Understand why most take only head shots.

I’ve often wondered, are ground squirrels much different physically (from a shooting perspective) than typical tree squirrels? We don’t have any of the ground variety here, but we have plenty of other critters (the ‘dillos are coming, the ‘dillos are coming!).

No groundsquirrels? Man that must be nice! My wife used to tell me she would "snip" me if I killed her fat little ground rats, until I showed her the damage the Beasties were causing under the concrete pad under our out building. Now, she says get em all. 'Dillow bustin is my favorite though!
