My freedom guests. They keep a nest for younguns each year. Viewable from my house, and excuse I gave my wife for needing a spotting scope.

That reminds me of last summer.... I had the S510 out smacking black birds n cow birds and a hawk(or falcon?) flew into the treeline being pestered big time by some blackbirds. He looked at me like...you gonna help!? I stayed hidden waiting for the other 2 birds to land, they hovered a bit and flew away

My bald eagle raided the squirrels right above my head yesterday.

A friend of Mine and I where riding in his boat last week at Alton ILLINOIS and as soon as we drove off from the Dock we saw this eagle fly right next to us for at least a mile up the river to the Locks
They are very beautiful for being so Vulture looking.
I remember years ago a guy was sent to prison for shooting one.
I think that's been the closest I've ever been to one.

Wow that's great, Majestic birds.
That's how I kind of started bird watching, was seeing them go after prey as a kid in the fields.

This one swooped down in front of me heading to car for work yesterday. Then up to tree, can you find it in the first pic?

Then I got some oversight from the local Eagle scouts before taking wing.

I took the Ruger 10/22 (PB) to the range today. I had the gun shop put on a Weaver K4-1 scope.
My old eyes were having some trouble at 50 yards as I am used to all my AO scopes. (spoiled)
So I googled it a short while ago to see if a Winchester 3-9x40 AO scope lying around I had, would work.
According to it and the Ruger boards they say yes and that I should zero at 25 yards.
When I get more daylight tomorrow it will be installed.

It let me take several photos, but was trying to sleep so I left it alone. My wife is a bird lover so I try to take a few pics for her when I can.

I have spent a lot of time taking pics of raptors and other birds too. Have eagle eggs to young adults in the nest but never had much luck with owls.

I have a few owl pics somewhere. I have a daughter with a bird "special interest", so I started becoming hyper aware. She is particularly fond of owls.
