EVOL Is EVOL line up discontinued?

I have recently become interested in these rifles for obvious reasons. Their simple nature being a very large part of it. Then I read several threads that seemed to imply that they were being discontinued in favor of the New HPS version.

So, I emailed AOA to get some information about the standard version, but was told that the HPS would be the only version offered. I was confused by this because they are still taking pre-orders on the standard version. They (respondent did not give their name) went on to say that they expected the HPS to be available next year, and they would let us know when they were posted on the site. Now, I realize it is the busiest shopping week of the year, and there may be someone helping out that might not be up to speed.

I am further confused by this because AoA posted a video five months ago with Tom Costan clearly stating that the HPS is not replacing the current EVOL line up. I also found another post made on another board where he said the same thing.

So, have I just gotten my wires crossed, and misunderstood? I sent a contact form to AAA earlier this week, but have not yet received a response.

The original EVOL is not being discontinued but the line-up is being thinned out. 22 mini and 22 carbine will remain but the 30s will be part of the HPS line. The only change to the original EVOL is they will have an externally adjustable regulator. This adds value without significant complication.

For those that are reading with interest, yes, I placed the order this morning. .22 with 18" barrel. Here we go.

I'm looking forward to finally getting a .22 with the 15" barrel. Based on the posts I've read, it sounds like it will be exactly the same as the old version, except it will have an externally adjustable reg - NICE!!!
