Just my random thoughts. I’m pretty skeptical, don’t go for all those ads on tv for pills or pain relief etc soooo.

There is probably nothing wrong with it as long as it’s safe. There’s really only anecdotal evidence it works.

Is it worth it? I would think Molykot 33, Krytox, Ultimox, and many more would serve just as well if not better.

Remember, pcp have been using silicone since their inception and no problems. I have a number of guns with regs, had tons of regs apart. Most work fine with silicone and if they don’t, lube won’t help.
I am very skeptical myself and so I know where you are coming from in that respect.

While I haven’t purchased any because I haven’t had reg problems or needed to rebuild regs, if I were to buy a new rifle, I have told myself I would try it.

Sure, the evidence is anecdotal. It is one guy who developed something for himself and decided to share it (at what would be a hefty profit I assume). That being said, it isn’t some huge airgun company trying to sell us the latest and greatest that turns out to be no better than the last model, because they only care about profits. I choose to believe in this case Warren is just trying to share what he has found really works. I have seen most of his videos and have to believe he wouldn’t be using it if it didn’t work. As one of the top shooters in the field, he is going to use what works best, especially since this isn’t something someone is going to pay you to use. He shoots all year in many environments most of us stay at home by the fire in, and it anecdotally helps him a lot.

I look at it like, we spend a lot more on stuff that actually doesn’t really help anything in this sport (especially some rifles), so $30 is worth it to try if it really will help.

The main value of reg butter is the improved recharge rate and consistency over temp ranges. If you shoot in cold weather you definitely want reg butter.

It would be a good experiment. I almost tried it because I like running my hammerspring/trigger groups dry using graphite. The reason that I didn't is because I spent some time researching it, along with graphite, again. You should read up on both, from multiple sources, if you haven't already. Graphite seeems to be the prefered for higher percentages of humidity, MoS2 seems to be better dry and high pressures. I run my orings lubed up in my regs and I don't see a good way around that. To keep everything moist I put a drop of silicone oil on my fill every couple of fill ups, and I don't 'think' that would play well with the MoS2, but I don't know. Also, it is so fine and slippery that I wondered at the ability of the valve to maintain a seal. Basically, I chickened out, but good luck! lol
After about 600 shots, pulled the reg to adjust (Cricket) belleville washers still dry.

Good to know, I might try it in the winter. Do you occasionally put a drop of silicone on your fill port or did you run completely dry? It looks really dry. If running totally dry, it will be interesting to see how all the orings will fare. I don't believe there is a single solution, and if there is one I would prefer it be dry that's for sure. The inside of my guns always glisten a little from just an occasional drop of silicone and I have never gotten any corrosion whatsoever. So I am going to keep doing that for the time being.

No, just the normal food grade silicone grease that I always use for O-rings during installation, nothing else.

I just stumbled across this thread. Thanks to those of you that said nice things. I played tournament paintball for like 25 years, often playing tournaments in the snow and ice. When you have a paintball gun shooting 10-15 balls per second (depending on the era in paintball) you will really notice shoot-down if your reg isn't performing. So for about 20ish years I was dabbling with different lube combinations to alleviate cold weather performance issues. What I eventually found was that I was able to come up with a stable lubricant that is safe under extremely high pressure while making the cold weather performance increase a ton. I am a professional airgun competition shooter now who shoots year round (think: Midwest winters) and I can tell you with 100% certainty - it vastly improves PCP performance, especially in the cold.

Due to the slickness, it also really improves reg consistency and with the blend I've offered to the market, it takes a while before you need to reapply. That was honestly the thing I struggled with most - too thin and it'll blow out quickly, too thick and you cut down the cold weather performance. I've found a great happy medium that works really well, especially under high pressure, and that's why all my fellow FX Airguns teammates use it, as well as some of the most prolific shooters in the sport. RMAC was won this year by my shooting partner Erik Pilsits, and I think you know what lube he uses. ;)

A batch of about 20 tins takes me quite a while to make, as I do it all manually with no machines and weighing all components by hand. The cost of the (sometimes very scarce) materials ends up giving me somewhere right around a Burger King to Salvation Army employee's wage rate (I imagine) - so this isn't some money grab or anything like that. It's me sharing my passion and something I've spent a lot of time developing with you all. And people love it. Also you probably only have to buy one tin and it'll last you pretty well the rest of your life. Glad you guys seem to like it. I'll keep churning it out, mostly supplying batches to High Pressure Pneumatics for their website. I can also be reached if you want to go through me directly for it. Thanks again, guys.

Cheers,

-Warren

Love your channel, this lube is the real deal im sure.
Now the real question....do you ship it to Canada?!😅
My guess is border peeps would love an unidentified "liquid" going across the border🤔🙄

I appreciate that, man. As far as shipping internationally, I already have so much time into each tin that I'm really unwilling to do customs paperwork for it unless you're going to order a bunch of them. I got kinda hosed shipping a bunch to the UK for a guy... sorta learned my lesson. If you ever shoot any of the big airgun events in the US I'll be happy to bring some for ya. Or maybe you're in Ontario, HPP is pretty dang far north. Road trip for Reg Butter? lol

Well, Warren, I'm certainly not the one you need to impress.. don't want to sound arrogant.

But, you impressed me with your post and the honesty about your product. I ordered some and I'm going to give it a try. I'm not too old to change my mind, we'll see.
