I asked and you answered, I appreciate that. I need to ask you this based on your answer: how many air rifle/pistol for sale listings state the info you mention? I will say that I have not gone over air gun listings to see how they are listed.

Quite a few over the years, just people being honest. Plenty of people, too, are not honest and have an easy time selling something, -once! To me, your gun doesn't sound like anything that bad if it is a springer, and if it is a pcp, they are usually easier to fix accuracy problems on. You just have to want to do it. If that's not your thing just state the facts and let someone else find the accuracy in it. Someone gets a project gun, and you get a good nights sleep.

Well, I've gotten 3 responses to my question, they all point to the same thing, be honest. So maybe list it for a 1/4 of what I payed for it new and mention that it was inaccurate for me and maybe include a couple tins of pellets.

Unless you hear something rattling, or you know something is banged up, and/or missing, but the gun still looks new, I'd start at half price, shipped. Negotiate down from there, 1/4 price is nice but you are really beating yourself up with that and you might be better off keeping it. Down the road you might figure out how to diagnose and fix the problem for nothing.

The gun I'm referring to is my barra PCP1100z gen1 .177cal. which I've had about 2 years (I also have the same brand/model in .22 cal that shoots much better groups, not fantastic but much better. I've also had that for about 2 yrs) The .177 out of 24 different brands or types of pellets only 2 of them gave me 5 out of 6 pellets in a 1/2" group. I just got done doing a test with the .22cal and need to go over the results..

Hey, I tried a dozen different slugs out of my Barra 250z, only 2 shoot lights out. Awesome! I only needed one. If you want a .177 that shoots everything well then sell yours and say it shoots 1/2" with these 2, and crap with everything else. That's just airguns. Better yet, provide the list of the other 22 that you tried, to save a new buyer the wasted time. I think that I wouldn't have tried so many different brands with a .177. I would have only tried brands that had multiple different head sizes, or known success, and stuck to a weight that I knew the barrel twist and energy I was going for, could be stabilized, and was accurate, in other peoples same gun. Since it's a pcp I only would have used between 10 and 13.5gr pellets for sure, JSB and all the H&N because they have a lot of different head sizes. Between those two brands, If I couldn't find one that shot well in .177, I'd sell it too. There are plenty of people that are looking for a winter project gun right about now. At the price you seem to be willing to take for it, you'll sell it fast.

What I'd really suggest is that you experiment with it. That would be more valuable than the money you'd get. If your Gen 1 doesn't have a regulator, get one, they're cheap from Barra, and up the power and try again. I found that I actually like getting the guns to shoot well more than having guns that shoot well. It's something interesting to do. Good luck!

Sounds good as far as how to advertise. When you say cheap for thebarra regulator, how cheap. I bought a Lane brand regulator for the Diana Bandit pcp but it cost me $105. That was expensive for me. I will look into the barra regegulater.

The reg for the the Gen 2 is sold for $40 on the their site but is sold out right now. Shoot them an email and ask if that one can be used in a gen 1. I would think that it could be but I am not sure. This is the kind of thing that I do with airguns, it's not for everyone but I think it's where the fun is.

I have what I think is a legitimate question. Say you have an air rifle. It is not accurate so you want to sell it. Do you advertise or tell a potential buyer that it is not accurate? What price do you put on it if you do let it be known about accuracy?

Ah...i know this predicament well.
I am sitting on my Slavia 630 springer for years now, it has useless open sights, 13mm dovetail rails (), not enough power for pesting, and i have done quite alot to improve accuracy/power. The thing is well made, in decent shape, and has many parts that could serve someone else fixing up theirs. But...i cant bring myself to sell it, give it away, or crush it in my press.
I would either sell it for so cheap that the buyer wouldn't really care or i'd sell it as a project/parts gun and list the issues and what i've tried doing.
