What Does it Take To Successfully Hunt Hogs with Airguns?

The only Airgun I've used for hogs is 45 cal Airforce 320 gr Slug
Broadside - Heart /Lung or if really steady rest just below the ear, I've made facing head shots but don't really like to, About 10 - 12 total. Normally didn't use an airgun - 300 blackout or 450 bushmaster.
We had a bad problem with pigs on our deer lease - killed and trapped 120+ in 1 year time but can't even tell we made a dent in them, but its a big place and lots of feeders so its just a pig magnet.

I cut a hog skull in half and drilled a hole dead center brain at 90 degrees and it came out here. Do with that what you will.

@CCook Can you be more specific about the starting point (of your drilling) and where it terminated at 90 degrees? Some arrows may help to better explain.

After I split it in half I found center of the brain cavity from the inside and went straight out. That hole between the eye socket and ear hole is where it came out. Slightly closer to the eye than I thought it would be.
