Out of curiosity, what does the swfa have over the Arken epl4 4-16? It’s very slightly lighter, but similar features for half the price. I’ve never looked through an swfa scope, so I have nothing to compare to my Arken, hence the question.
I don't have any experience with the Arken. The SWFA is just a nice blend of features. The glass would be described as good as it gets for non-ED. Turrets are very accurate and there is 40 mils of vertical adjustment.

What would make it near perfect? Larger numbers/larger vertical turret and a zero stop. This is not a great target scope but awesome for game.

I've owned both the Arken EPL4 4-16x44 and the SWFA 3-15x42. I'd pick the arken over the SWFA as the turrets are definitely better with a zero stop and reticle is better personally speaking. Both nice scopes. Id also choose Athlon 4-16x44 Midas Tac over it. SWFA was awesome years ago and untouched by alot in the price range but nowadays there's alot more choices. The fixed power I think are very hard to beat though still

i wish i had more firsthand knowlidge with these differant scopes.
i ordered two of the Athlon 4-16x44 Midas Tac scope one for the EVOL .22 and one for a BRK i bought for my wife.
i picked up a second hand hawke airmax 6-24x50 SFP for the EVOL .30 and so far thats not panning out. i am not sure where to turn for a scope choice for the .30 just yet.

I really love my 2-12x42 Helos on my mini. Far from Tier 1 glass but for my needs fits what I need perfectly. I do wish it was less hefty as I believe it's around 25oz or 26oz. I'll have to weigh mine as I ditched a heavier scope but added the PRS Lite over the standard MOE stock. I believe before was around 8lbs on the dot. Hard to beat I think for a quality airgun scoped up. Heck my Taipans I think were in the 10lbs range with a scope lol. The Shorty not as close but in the 9lbs range. But like said they balance so well. If you want lightweight my little Notos is hard to beat with a red dot. Feels like sub 4lbs lol but need to weigh and see.
+1 on the Athlon Helos BTR G2 2-12x42. It's an easy scope to recommend. Image quality and overall design are up there for the price. I would not hesitate to pick up a second one if I decide to get another short gun.

I had a helos 2-12 on my leshiy 2 a year ago. I really liked the glass quality of the scope, and it’s build. It was heavy, even for a 30mm tube, and sometimes I found myself wanting more magnification. I think the thing that bothered me the most was the horseshoe reticle at full mag. It would block most of a squirrels head, or the entire body of a chipmunk. I wasn’t sure I’d hit the area I wanted to hit, so I traded the scope for a 4-16 Midas tac. That scope resides on my evol 30 up until I recently sold it, and now sits waiting for another platform. The epl4 Arken is very similar in quality to the Midas tac, is a little lighter, and has IR. in my opinion, Arken made a home run with this scope, but it’s important to note, Arken made this scope for hunters. It sacrificed weight by going from 34mm to 30mm tube, but still has Japanese ED glass. It is SO much scope for the money, and I’d choose it over my Midas tac purely for weight and IR reasons. The reticle isn’t too busy, and it’s 16x mag is perfect for me up to 100yds. It’s not going to beat the valdada or other tier 1 scopes, but it’s also not designed to. Those tier 1 scopes sacrifice light weight for perfect optical quality. While they’re great from a bench or tripod, carrying around an evol all day with that much scope Weight is just not worth the price tag to me.

Another fine shooting session sir! For whatever reason, I like seeing that clear acrylic moa scale overlay better than a set of calipers stretched across a target.
Thank you very much, I like the "groupy" too . It's simple. Accurate. And easy, I always get asked where I got it so here's a link. I keep it on my Keychain that way it's always with me
