What'cha doing air gun related today?

That is knowledge and experience that I am on here for. Thank you. YT channel LakeForkGuy video was the first I saw of AirForce guns years ago. Saw the power and really piqued my interest in PCP. Still does. Just with a lil bit more precision further out. Was hoping for something comparable and under that $2k range, but looks like there may be no other choices. I sort of knew that in the back of my mind, but hope springs eternal.

How far are you plan on shooting?

Seriously though why not consider one? The Vet II tactical .25 700mm can do that easily. Edgun West does except HAM Points, if they have it.

On the hunt for a .22 slug rifle capable of shooting up to those 40 grain Air Marksman FRAGs. Going through the usual sites on this search.

Look for a used FX Dynamic with a 700mm barrel. Mine is shooting the 40.1 AM slugs at 992fps 88fpe very well, though I did get a heavier hammer and bigger transfer port, most of the used guns would probably already have those installed. People don't buy these to turn down and shoot pellets with. Now that the MkII has come out the prices on the old style will drop and I wouldn't trade how mine is shooting for a new one either.

Its surprising how much more efficient mkii is if its like the drs. What kind of shot count do you get?

I don’t know if the Sonoran .22 with power tune can push them, but if it can, it might be a good option. I e seen no reports on the .22 version and so I’m not sure of what it is actually capable of.

I know it’s easy for others to say, but if your upper limit is $2k, I’d stretch it a few hundred more and consider a Panthera/ Dynamic MKII.

About 28, but he's not after effeciency, he's after power, and they're both the same except one is going to be a whole lot cheaper.

Seem positive reviews of the Taipans via Air Rifle Activities YT. However, both Edgun West and Talon are sold out at this time.

Yes, I believe I saw some of store running sales on the originals. I would hazard there are going to be those selling theirs to upgrade.

Well i hit a 12” x12” plate at 352 yds with the tiapan. And that was with bucket and styx!

Thank you for the offer. Since I have stock of .22 pellets and slugs, I am probably going stick to that route.

Well, though the FX rifles definitely hit the mark and I do want one, I would have to hold off for a bit due to the price tag. Hence my interest in the AirForce slug. However, all the discussion has given me info and not jump into a rifle setup that I would regret later.

One thing not mentioned in the comparison of the Panthera and the Panthera MKII, is the trigger. The MKII has a better trigger and it cannot be retrofitted to the original.

I’m actually thinking about selling one or two of my Airguns to get the DRS MKII. Scary part is I already have a name picked out for it .

I shot the .22 Condor slug barrel today and was very surprised. I have been shooting the .221 slugs to match the groove diameter but have had no luck so I tried the .218 H&N slugs I got today and the 36gr showed some potential and possibly the 38gr as well. Not only did the diameter surprise me but the speed. Seems like they like around 907-870. Apparently, I have been running everything way to fast. I have it on the Escape UL, so I had to keep stopping to fill up. Next time I will just shoot these and play with speeds and different moderator lengths. I will also put the big tank on it so I can get more consistent shots. I also found out that if a smaller top hat was used the 15gr JSB pellets would group well. Maybe someday I will get one. I shot from 30 mostly but tried the 36gr at 50 as well but I struggle with my tiny rear bag to get steady.
