2026 SHOT Show

Well, I'm not at the SHOT Show for the second time. and I'm not the only one!

It's interesting to read Tom Gaylord's post today. He says much about the show with which I agree. Primarily about the ever-smaller number of new airgun product announcements, launch versus availability timings (although that is nothing new) and the ever-increasing costs of attendance. As Tom concluded - the payoff from attending has drastically dwindled.

However I will be delighted to read any input from HAMsters who are there...

In particular, I DEFINITELY AGREE with Tom where he talks about airgun media sources and says that - and I quote - ..."Others, like Hard Air Magazine, can be trusted implicitly." Thanks Tom

Like Tom, I find more "hardcore" airgun news by being at events like the Pyramyd Cup and Extreme Benchrest. I also find IWA OutdoorClassics a valuable event. It's the world's biggest trade show for airguns. And I will be reporting from Germany in just a few weeks time!

+1 to that! As the kids say, game recognize game.

Not a big bore shooter myself, but if I were... that Umarex Tusk would be something to check out.

It is unfortunate to experience that. I've often wished that the outdoor culture here would be more diverse in it's interests.

Yeah, Tom is a great guy!
He has forgotten more about airguns that I will ever learn....!
And an amazing steadfastness in testing, writing, and responding to posts on his site.

Proof that IWA is where it's really happening. The Lieva was announced there last year, just now showing up at shot show. Although I'm not sure why he called it an air venturi gun.
