Just wanted to share with any interested.
Did 2 evening sessions at a local dairy that has a bit of a problem with very large rats.
The Zelos with the DNT thermnight was more fun and effective than i had hoped.
Stock tuning with the trigger lightened up and a 700cc bottle made for 140 shots in two nights without a refill and I’m still not below reg pressure.
Rats from 8”-12” not counting tails were by far the norm with a half dozen or so little ones.
Standing/walking with a tripod, dodging the cows. What a blast!

Great time killing rats brother. Man I hate those things, wish I was there with you!

THIS JUST IN! My awesome vevor compressor just died 2 full months out of warranty.
The main drive shaft sheared off between the sun gear and the piston connecting rod.
Vevor customer service says that they are sorry that this happened to me but the only thing that they will do is
Tell me how to “fix” it on my own…
So… my fix will be to purchase another compressor that is not made from Chinesium and to warn any listening parties to avoid these pieces of trash at all cost.
Any information regarding quality compressors for under one million dollars would be appreciated.
I will need to move swiftly as the rats are breeding at my new playground and i really really want to get back to the fun.

I have a wonderful cheapskate wife who has literally saved our family thousands upon thousands of dollars over the last 48ish years. She listened to me obsessing about how awful my compressor situation was and then asked the dumbest question ever.
“Why don’t you buy another cheap compressor on amazon for a couple of hundred bucks, spend another 28 dollars on a 3 year replacement warranty and let them worry about the quality issues?”
Women… They just dont get it sometimes! There needed to be a much more complex and time consuming solution to my dilemma. If she keeps saving us money at this rate, there is no telling how many airguns and accessories i could wind up with!

Which DNT Thermnight model?

They're so expensive.

Is this what you did then? Another Vevor? What's the name of the extended warranty? And who takes care of it (the warranty)?

I’m not sure of the brand but it looks identical to the vevor. The warranty offer pops up in the amazon checkout que and my new comp with frree shipping arrives Thursday.
DNC225R which i was a tiny bit skeptical about but am totally pleased with now.

Ok. Yea I see that pop up sometimes (Asurion, or some other name) on amazon. I wonder if dealing with whoever that actually is (whatever company, based wherever) is any better than "Vevor".

I wanted a DNT225R. Nice.

I had seen a couple of reviews that said, “stay away” “poor definition on thermal”, most of what i saw looked like it would be just fine and they were right. I got mine just before the price went up a couple hundred dollars so that made for a little win. For rats at +-15 yards thermal is absolutely phenomenal. Daytime shooting or night vision it is deadly allowing head shots at 25yds & beyond. I would recommend it to anyone.

Yea. I saw the two higher end models coming out and, while I can't really afford either of them, told myself I'd wait and maybe get the mid range one (335?). The thermal on that one looks absolutely amazing to me (from all the videos reviews). But it's about $3000 cad.
I saw there was a V2 of the Zulus, and after a bit, I got one - the 3x12 LRF. What I really like about the 335R is the thermal base mag (and I think the NV as well?) are low(er). 2x or 2.5x on the thermal. Nice for close range.
Have you seen their new multi use NV, with clip on ability, mag down to 1x or 1.5x, etc.? That would have been pretty ideal for a close range setup as well, I think.

Definitely like to upgrade someday maybe. I looked briefly at the clip-on/swing away models but just wasn’t sure that they would work as well for me. I like the LRF/BC and the record features and am sort of working my way into using them too. Im not very astute when it comes to the tech so just sitting down and using the one shot zero was like a big deal as well but at least i have something to shoot for.
For guys who just want to have fun there probably aren’t too many “BAD” choices since everything works at some level. My recommendation is don’t spend the rent money but don’t wait too long either, missing out isn’t what we like to talk about in our old age!

New compressor got here. It’s orange like the vevor but smaller than my first compressor and cheaper too.
Fired it off and took my 700cc bottle from 2000psi to 3600psi forgot to time it buy it didn’t take too long maybe 15min.
Maybe go ratting tonight if we get home in time! The weather here is clear, cold and beautiful hope all is well in the frozen north!

With that Logic... I think I'd keep her, then follow her advice and buy another cheap compressor

BTW, dairy farms my man, chefs kiss. That's been my favorite secret.

Equine stables are real good ones for rabbits too. Horses tend to keep the fields low enough to spot em with ir 65+ out. Its just a pain waiting for them to find a tender spot where they're not shifting. You will find yourself kissing at em to get em perked for a good shot.
