Not for nothing but I really enjoy the "cheap mags" from CARM, I also like the feel and fit of a metal magazine, have had both metal and plastic mags fail though . I think it all comes down to manufacturer of each individual product.

Yeah I do like the availability of economical CARM magazines. I’ve bought 4 of them for my Evol and they run smooth as butter. I have had issues with my factory Evol magazines but I have no doubt they will outlive the CARM mags. Plastic just degrades over time. By the time our grandchildren are digging our airguns out of dusty attics and try to use them, many of the plastic pieces are going to be brittle and easily broken.
In my opinion AGT makes some of the best magazines out there. If I could convert my Evol to use them it would be awesome. Easiest magazine you’ll ever load and well built.

Is it just me or has the cost of new airguns seemingly shot through the roof? My income has not kept up with the price of the new airguns. Maybe I have a bit too much Scottish blood in me, but I think I will just stick with the old ones.

I'm with ya RidgeRunner. I bought a Diana 48 a couple years ago. A gun I had wanted for many years. At age seventy that's it for me. Between the gun price increases and everything else going up even more I'm tapped out.

Airguns remind me of black powder guns. Black powder guns and shooting supplies (balls, powder, wads, caps) used to be very cheap. Much cheaper than shooting modern firearms. Then once the inlines came along, bp hunting exploded and prices shot way up. It got to the point I could shoot modern guns/ammo fir the same price and in some cases less (reloading). The same seems to be happening with airguns. As they get more popular, prices went up. Also the same with bows/crossbows.

Nobody can ever afford anything, if you listen to some people. An air gun at a certain performance level of say, .22 pellet at 900 fps was possible 30 years ago, but it was "priced out of the reach" of most people. At least if you talked to most shooters.

Ya, but today most places offer easy terms fiance.. lots with that affirm thing so you can afford any gun at any price

So that out of reach excuse is gone . Just put $99 down pay $99 a month for the next 99 years and anything can be yours ..

Well said! The weakness of the dollar is what the real issue is. I'm thankful I bought my Diana 48 at the price I did. It is an heirloom I will pass on to my Granddaughter.

I made a post about a specific manufacturer and pricing a week or two ago , really now that I think of it, its all the manufacturers and like it was pointed out , everyones feeling the brunt of this economy and rise in cost of materials along with a myriad of other things.

I do think that there hasn't been anything really, truly new in the way of innovation in airguns with the exception of the electronic rifles so you'd think the costs might start leveling out but I don't see that happening any time soon.

When an airgun is up around $2500.00 to $3000.00. It just blows my mind! I've bought cars for less.

Cousin was in the Navy at Newport News. Local used car dealer had a car, $1,200 or $99/month. A "friend asked" about monthly option. $99 down, $99 a month.... for 72 months. One gun I looked at was something like $400 new or $35 a month for 18 months. Ouch!

Probably bon mas production scale + china labor cost that gun off the line they may have maybe $75 in it , maybe. You then pay profit margins and store markups , but don't forget most offer free shipping ( on sales over $150)

It's tough, for sure. I know people that buy $2-$3k guns and $1k scopes lol. I just bought a $700 gun (Niksan Ozark) and a $140 Vortex scope and I think I'm a big spender lol I wanted something a little nicer than my other guns, but I still love my sub $300 guns with sub $100 scopes on them. They do the job just fine. I got my LTC last summer, so I got away from buying airguns for a while and bought powder burners. Just bought a Shield Plus 9mm, so I think at this point, I'm all set with both types of guns for a bit.

Agree, CARM are top notch. Especially for Daystate rifles i prefer the plastic or carbon CARM mags over the metal oem ones.

I'm Waiting on the lead shortage and a tin of crosman will be at jsb pricing from ammo stocks depleting supplying Ukraine and now we're sending even more to Israel first transport landed today .. the government shutdown messes , then pretty soon they will need to do something to replenish the ammo and that day the gov going to be buying up all they can in materials like lead and all..

I’ll take a plastic magazine thanks. Why? Do I really want to scratch the you know what out of my precious guns magazine area? Nope. To me plastic is light and durable enough and I can always get a Karm.
