Others Received My Microstrike .22 Today

I chuckle at the soda can at 40 yards, not to be a snob as I am not but I expect a LOT more the a soda can honestly if I can pop a quoter at 40 or 50 I am disappointed.

and at to 400.00 well I know folks that have a very hard time spending that on any gun then your say air gun and its not happening.

air guns in my view are way over priced but I understand why and expected it. high end air guns dont have the numbers to get the cost down its not about how complex it is its numbers for ever ,22 airgun sold shares far more rimfire sold far more

when a shop sets up to make a 100 parts the cost is the same as making a 1000 parts the lower leval entry guns are doing just that the are run larger part counts and its my guess that by have it made offshore you are taking advantage of a company that is already making airguns so you get shared parts thats is barrel rag;s reg part springs and other this all makes the cost lower and it ads up rapidly.

so although I personally beleave a import gun has the potential to be a great gun it doesn't meant its going to be or be consistent

I will not spend money chasing upgrading an import because no matter what you spend on it at the end of the day is still what is is. I would rather save and get the higher end gun. even if its used and half my guns I have purchased use because that saved me a LOT.

I like it enough that I’m toying with purchasing a 10mm (if it will fit in the shroud) LW barrel and cutting it in half and trying it LOL. It should fit as the AV barrel is about 10.8mm.
Honestly....do it🤩! If you like it (minus the barrel lol) i think its worth it. I also dislike short airguns, I want all the length (read stability= accuracy!) I can get, within reason of course....no 800mm barrels here.

I have had my Micro for two days I am scratching my head,, Mine is also 22 caliber , I cleaned the barrel and lowered the reg to 1200 psi, , The Crosman 14 gr pellets fit pretty good in the barrel and I am getting good groups at 20 yards my sight in , I have shot out to 30 yards in my pistol range, I am pretty impressed with the accuracy, I am shooting 14gr Crosman pellets reg set at 1200 psi hammer spring all the way out Pellets at 680 FPS,, Red dot sight.

I’m finding that I get reasonable accuracy with it, but it fouls quickly and the groups open up. I’ve polished the barrel twice. It literally shaves lead off the pellets. I lowered the reg to 1500psi, but I believe the gauge reads a little high. Now on to the trigger.

Lowered the trigger pull from 3lbs 4oz to 2lbs 1 oz today. That puts it on par with the TalonP. I’m not sure it will go much lower as it is about to hit the frame lol, buts it’s not bad at all. They omitted from the manual that the trigger is adjustable, albeit only one adjustment. The second stage pull weight is adjustable.

I’ve been shooting my Microstrike all day, as a matter of fact all week. I don’t have a group yet from 25yds to 101yds that I’m proud of, at least not good enough to post. I’ve shot 6 or 7 different brands and weights of pellets and two types of slugs. Approximately 500 shots. I’ve tried different reg pressures from 1300psi up to 2600psi and everything in between. I’ve been through the whole range of the hammer spring adjustment in 1/8 turns. I’ve polished the barrel. I’ve let the barrel lead up and I’ve cleaned it. I’ve seen some people have posted some decent groups. I’m not giving up yet, but it’s getting frustrating lol. I have noticed that some people posting their great groups keep discounting their flyers as shooter induced and not counting them in their groups. Someone on Reddit posted that their .22 patchworm got stuck and that they have to clean it with a .20 patchworm. That correlates well to my measured groove diameter of .21365”. The airgun seems to be well manufactured for the price other than the .22 barrel. I sure wish one of you guys here on HAM would post some results 😜. I’m going to clean the barrel one more time and try again. A Dillo appears to have found the end of my back yard and so the Ghost is coming back out.

@Billm you had me convinced that you need an RMA when you slugged it, but I guess you really like it and want to keep it.

Are you going to hash it out with AV or see if PA is willing to send you a new one? I have absolutely no doubt that PA would or give you a refund.

I guess if I were in your situation I’d exchange it and that replacement also patterned like a shotgun then start up the email campaign.

I think I’m going to contact PA. I went out and shot a few small groups at 101 yards with the Ghost, just to make sure it’s not me. I’ll probably ask for a refund and wait for something else.

You definitely put in the time! Id get a different barrel or send it back as well👍 My Slavia springer is in the same boat lol, dont even want to sell it to someone as its technically defective. Maybe just keep the good parts and scrap the rest lol.

I had a thought… now that AV has NSA they should make MicroStrike specific ammo.

They could guarantee that no other “.22” ammo will shoot better from the MicroStrike, perhaps marketing as competition grade and charge a premium 😉.

They could likely tout it as having a better BC.

Yeah turn the manufacturing blunder into marketing genius.

😂😂😂

That’s funny.😆

I cleaned the barrel one more time and shot a benchmark group with the Ghost .25 at 40yds. It’s solely a “benchmark” that shows that I have reasonable shooting skills at 40yds and that the conditions were not a factor. Even though it’s at 40yds, it’s a sub-MOA group. I then shot a few groups with the Microstrike .22 after cleaning it. That way it was seasoned so to speak. They weren’t the greatest, so I moved the trap in closer to a distance of 30yds and shot a few groups. at 30yds the groups were ok, but flyers as usual. I decided to sort the .22 Hades. Boy, they are not even close to being uniform in weight. I managed to sort ten pellets that all weighed 15.88gr. I took those out and shot a ten shot group at 40yds. I’ll post the results below. The results speak for themselves. I carry and have since 1992. I would not carry a handgun with a 4” barrel that I could not hit center of mass at 25yds offhand with. The Microstrike has a 10.65” barrel and is being shot from a benchrest. Airguns are inherently accurate in most cases, I shot a slug into soft cotton so that there would be no deformation, just in case pushing a slug through the barrel deformed them:before and after. In case you didn’t notice, that 40yd Microstrike group is 9.249 MOA.
