What'cha doing air gun related today?

It’s like any new skill right? You gotta study to learn the techniques then you gotta go out and put in the time. There’s so many factors involved from sounds one uses, proper setup and all that. Not to mention how moon phase, temperature and weather affects their movements. It’s a lot but it’s fun to me…when it’s not frustrating as hell 😂😂😂.

I’m also lucky in that I live in a beautiful place so my stands often have the added value of just being pretty to look at.

So thanks for the kinds words I appreciate it. I’m probably a little crazy to be trying to do this but I just turned 39 last week and I wanna do something “big” (for me at least) while my knees and other joints will still handle the rough country. Plus I always see a lot of talk about “this is a great coyote gun” but I don’t see a lot of dead coyote pics and videos with an airgun next to it. There are definitely some guys getting it done out there though. I know that for a fact. I wanna be one of those guys and I want the scope cam footage for when naysayers say it can’t be done haha.

Oh and if some manufacturer wanted to send me a gun to play with and “prove” it’s a coyote gun I wouldn’t hate that 😂😂😂.
LOL, 39? I'm 65 and still love hunting coyotes at night deep in the woods from a blind. There are a few battles you have to win before you bag coyotes most of the time, at least here in N.Y. I use a modified .308 Texan with a Zulus with LRF but if you don't win those battles before, the pcp won't matter. I took a coyote at 140 yards last week; the shot is the easy part. sometimes:rolleyes:.

Yeah sadly there aren’t a lot of deep woods around here and even less blinds unless it’s a quick pop up one. I like just a little bit from Zion National park so it’s a lot of steep high desert canyons, sage prairies and some of the nastiest/thorniest thickets ive ever dealt with….. I not gonna quit hunting but after a lifetime of playing sports and being dumb I’m always aware of the fact that my knees are in borrowed time 😂😂😂

Mounted a new Athlon Talos 3-12x40.
Sighted to 25yd. At the range.
Then went to my mother-in-laws to shoot a critter or two, but they didn't come out in the wet weather.
So I killed a couple buckeyes hanging from a tree. Also decided to shoot a steel barrel drum at 25yd just to see if it would make a dent.
It did, the pellet is stuck in it.

Well I spent all weekend at the permission trying to hunt these urban coyotes. They are unpredictable as hell. Trail cam is picking them up at such weird times….

So anyways I shot this nice jackrabbit at like 65-70y… I should have recorded it because I got him low right behind the shoulder blade for a lungs shot. The “whack” was pretty darn good.

Im the same way about recording, lol. More important to place the shot then to press record. Im hoping to record one, as of now I have a black bear that has kill a pig nearby and has put a stop until someone shoots it or first frost.

Nothing like the hard smack of a kill especially at long distance where you can still hear it. Very satisfying!

Took the OmniStorm out to try and collect some chrono data, and record some shots using scope. 61F and 13+ mph winds, but break action and closing up were making chrony fall off. Saw pellet escape attempts again with the Meisterkugeln 7.0 pellets, but Benji 7.9s were snug as a bug in a rug. I think the gun is around 12 fpe with current piston tune, but I will need to figure out a different mounting plan if I want reliable chrony numbers with natechrony on it.

You can see the 3 dents from pellet hits, placement is me. Shot at 20 yards.

Nothing worldly, but still being pleasantly surprised by the Barra 250 @ 40yds/nine shots today. Maybe 50yds is attainable, but probably not in my hands; fun to find out.
.25cal/25.39grs @ 2,200 (?) regulated and 915-920 fps. Getting 34 shots with this combo bf it drops off, which is pretty good imo.

Nice shooting brother! What a great rifle. Now, if it only had a sidelever.
