Coming Soon – The Reximex Daystar

1753191873054.webp

The Reximex Daystar is another new Turkish PCP air rifle that’s scheduled to land at Pyramyd AIR at the end of August 2025.

HAM reviewed the Reximex Throne Gen 2 Compact in September 2024. We liked it a lot and it earned a 87% score and Gold Award for its performance on test.

The Daystar takes an unusual position in the market by being available in multiple stock versions. There’s a choice of black synthetic stock or Turkish Walnut. In addition, there’s laminated stock models available in both orange and blue colorways.

All stocks include an adjustable cheek piece and buttpad. They are also equipped with sling swivel studs, which will please many hunters

Whatever the stock, the action is the same!

The Reximex Daystar is available in .22 and .25 calibers. It’s a sidelever-action, magazine-fed PCP with a 3,625 PSI (250 bar) maximum fill pressure. The HPA tube has a capacity of 260 cc.

Pyramyd’s specs call for a maximum Muzzle Energy of 36.3 Ft/Lbs in .22 caliber and 40.7 Ft/Lbs in .25 cal. There’s an adjustable transfer port so that these figures easily can be lowered if required by the owner.

Pyramyd is also calling for the Daystar to achieve up to 84 shots “at optimal velocity” in .22 caliber. In .25 cal, the number is 70. As with a number of other Turkish PCPs that will be available soon in the USA, the Daystar is unregulated.

Another interesting feature is that the Daystar’s barrel is un-shrouded. Instead there’s an air stripper fitted to the muzzle.

The Daystar’s pricing reflects the varying costs involved in stock manufacturing. In black, synthetic form, it’s priced at $399.99, including two magazines and a female quick-disconnect fill adapter. The Turkish Walnut stock version (which would be my choice) is $479.99.

Both orange and blue laminated stock models are $599.99. Yip, laminated stocks are beautiful and strong, but the cost of the wood is significant. The scopes shown in these photographs are an additional-cost item, of course.

+1 on the walnut...in .22! Very nice, the air stripper is killing the vibe though, and 40ft lbs on the .25....😒, why can't anyone make a tubed .25 with respectable power?! Honestly, I'd prefer a 20fpe .177 version. Curious what 'optimal velocity' is bc that is a very respectable amount of shots on a fill....I very much doubt the numbers. Hoping for a full review! 😌🙏

What do you consider to be respectable in .25?

Personally, 55ft lbs is a good respectable number. But I like plenums and long barrels 24"/600mm so 55ft lbs is generally pretty easy with H&N Barracuda 30.86gr. Just got 65ft lbs with my HM1000x at 1750psi.
Exactly my thoughts...above 50fpe in .25 these days. If a decent increase in power is not desired and pellet costs matters, than why move away from .177/.20/.22 and loose than nice trajectory to boot?! My .22 Ghost easily lays down 53ft lbs.... I can tune it up if I'd like and that's with just the 600mm barrel. It just seems every wood stocked, aluminum tubed .25 that comes out is anemic🥺....not just picking on Reximex here.

I have a Throne 2 .25. The Reximex builds seem to need port work to get them into the 50+ FPE range. Or like i did, crank the regulator to 200bar. But quality and accuracy wise mine is great. I switch between it and my 2 Niksan Ozarks as my main squirrel gun. 3 excellent pest guns for under $1500 for all 3.

I keep telling people the low end of the market is catching up to the high end, fast. Of course the price snobs vehemently deny it.

As far as squirrel hunting in the woods? I would agree, in competition? Not at all… Am not a competitor but there is a vast difference and it has nothing to do with other air gunners being “price snobs”…🙏

"Three excellent pest guns"
No mention of competition.

What percentage of airgun users are competition shooters? The vast majority will never even attend a competition let alone compete. Yet there are those that buy the latest whizz-bang incremental upgrade offering for whatever amount of money the mfg declares. A lot of them to shoot 25 yards or less in their backyard. The high price actually being the object of their desires. A status symbol more than a tool.

Cars, clothes, booze the list is manifold.
We all know someone that is "car poor". They have so much money tied up in payments they struggle everywhere else. All to drive a 4 wheel status symbol.

Yes, I agree, and its all good…🙏 As far as airguns… No mention of “competition” but of “price snobs”? People will spend what they will. It’s a hobby to the majority. Let’s keep it about the Daystar. I like the walnut version…

I'd rather find a US seller of the Reximex Force 2. Balistas has them but with tariffs no telling how much it will cost the day it hits US customs.

Or not, looking at Reximex site it no longer is on the list. .25 was underpowered anyway.

US really lacks in sellers of whole product lines. I get they have to be able to sell them but Krale, Ballistas, Huma Air have the broader selection of products so they do sell.

And prior to tariffs they were usually much cheaper than US suppliers of the same rifle.

Tormenta is definitely cheaper stateside.

Great question! Dunno...
If I had to guess, I’d say no on the “moderator” affect. To me it appears that they’ve used the Benjamin Caden or Kratos platform and that did not have a moderator effect with the air stripper. It is a really nice looking build with those laminated stocks. I could see a duet with the RPA and one of these in a kit with matching gowns (stocks/grips). I also am looking forward to the review when it comes out.
