How do you like the Elf? They are reasonably priced at Donnyfl and look great. How well do they shoot?I found out quick that I love bullpups when I got my P-Pup. Especially the wood and Steel versions. Unfortunately no room in pic for the ELF-W

I have fired exactly 1 shot outta it. From 20 yards, I shot into a heavy, thick industrial fiberglass tub with its heavy lid. 18 grain jsb pellet. Punched through lid and the thick bottom, leaving a lot bigger hole than 22 cal size. Then, the rain started again. It has done nothing but flood here in last few weeks. Supposedly. It supposed to clear up for few days this weekend, so I can get some much needed trigger time. How do you like the Elf? They are reasonably priced at Donnyfl and look great. How well do they shoot?

Tell me more about the Mostrum scopes including where you are getting them. You might laugh at my choices, but for several years I have had a nasty habit of buying nice scopes I find at yard sales, gun shops and flea markets. And I test them out on different P/B's and my air rifles, seeing what fits what best. I picked up a Monstrum Banshee lpvo 1x20x24 that had been mounted on a 10/22, for 50 bucks. Loved it. So I got those en route for the ELF and the Akela. My shooting distance isn't but 45 is yards, so anything larger would be useless, to me anyway. I have a couple of Vortex's in the top self of my safe, but I just prefere the LPVO's on my Pups. 1 exception, I am trying out a Triton StarStrike gen 2, 5-20 night vision scope on my Beeman pup, while the wife's has another LVPO from monstrum
I have been ordering mine direct from Monstrumtactical.com, or the Monstrum on Amazon.. Amazon has faster delivery. I have 8 or 9 of them, LPVO's, standard scope types, and a couple of the magnified dots for folks with an astigmatism...they work great. I have never had an issue with any of mine. I use them on AR's, and other small PB's, and of course several of my PCP's. They have a lifetime warranty too. Started that last year.Tell me more about the Mostrum scopes including where you are getting them.
As much as I love the Pups light weight, the ELF beats it like a rented mule in power. The pup don't come close to the punch with the heavy pellets. But the Pup feels like it weighs half what the ELF does. Guess its the wood. Turkish walnut way outweighs the Beech, or whatever the Pups stock is made of.Now that you have tested the Elf, which is your favorite? Or do you still need to test the P Pup?
After you test the Akela, let us know which of the three you would pick if you could only have one. I have an Akela and was considering getting an Elf, but have decided not to. I am still looking at the P Pup. The light weight, forward cocking lever, regulator, and low noise level are very tempting. As much as I love the Pups light weight, the ELF beats it like a rented mule in power. Now though, I gotta get out tomorrow and test out the Akela! I added a scope rail support, and a milled aluminum barrel band to her today. Aired her to 3000 Thursday, and the gauge hasn't leaked an ounce. whew, she is another heavy girl, even before I added the scope.
I honestly think no matter what, the P-Pup will be my grab gun for close pest birds and tree rats, Akela and ELF-W for trash pandas, coyotes , foxes and stray dogs trying to snack on my chickens.
So far I ain't gonna lie. The Akela gonna have to set one high bar to beat the ELF-W. Especially with the price difference. Crap, even if price was same. The P-Pup is nice and lite weight though. I wouldn't wanna face off with an angry trash panda or a yote with the Pup in my hands though. A panda would crawl up your leg snacking while you smacking him with heavies outta the pup I afraid .After you test the Akela, let us know which of the three you would pick if you could only have one. Ok. Between the Akela and the Elf, I believe the Akela is #1- smoother action cocking wise,#2- Maybe a little more punch. It's for sure louder, but I don't have a moderator on it like I do the Elf, so maybe that's it. Still up in the air on that. #3- Out to 45 yards, can't tell any difference in accuracy.. That's limit of my target range. No crows out in trees today to stretch it out any, so, until I get to go to the 100yard range, they still neck in neck. I would grab either of them for the yotes in a heartbeat. Ohhh, #4- yeah, this is tough, but the Akela is just a sexy lined beast. After you test the Akela, let us know which of the three you would pick if you could only have one. That mean it's the least comfortable of the three?Honestly it could be that it just feels that way. I don't have a scale, but the difference in the way the Akela shoulders could be what's making the difference, but it feels like it is to me
Well, she don't feel like Granpa's old smoke pole, or a carbine or bullpup so much to me yet. Just..different. like a hybrid between a carbine and a Pup maybe. Don't get me wrong, she Def didn't shoot bad, very accurate honestly. Just had a different feel, maybe weight distribution. But I ain't gonna condem her at all. Gotta get used to her.Still not a good ole rifle, but I understand.![]()
