Earlier this week I came in from the range all smiles and satisfied with my shooting. Somehow the world changes today. Still shooting my TX200 with it's Hawke Airmax mounted. All my stock screws properly in place. First shot, 5 inches high and to the left. The next three, the same. Fifth shot . . . high and to the right! Is this reallly iced tea I'm sipping, or did my wife slip something into this tea. Naa, she wouldn't do that. The day's temperatures aren't significantly different. Wind . . . not much. I haven't knocked my scope around, at least that I know of. So what, my friends? Tomorrow I'll start the day by zeroing in the scope and see what happens. What did I dooo?

Thanks for your reply, but I leave my FFP scope on 10X consistently as I'm shooting paper at 25 yards. I think that a demon invaded my TX or scope. I will overcome on the 'morrow! Orv.
That's mighty strange.... If you can't figure it out do you have a different scope you can mount up and try instead? The turrets are capped on the airmax so you can probably rule out accidental movement, shots are high so velocity shouldn't be the issue, and the TX is solid.....hmm what distance were you shooting at?

Any change that big and I would clean the barrel, check the breech oring, and hopefully try some previously used tin of pellets of known accuracy. After that, it would be new piston seal and spring. Good luck!

Of course, all that is after that I had determined that it wasn't just the scope or the mounts. And fyi, it use to be that when problems like this showed up to me, that it was always the mounting system, and not the scope itself.

Mike: chronographing my TX will be valuable, thanks for the reminder. Well, tomorrow's another day. I have a couple of shooting buddies coming over on Thursday, one shoots a RAW and the other an FX. You know I"m a loyal springer guy, but Thursday will bring temptation. Orv.
Just Messing with ya of course. Yeah I’d be interested in chronograph numbers. If that’s consistent I’d take the scope off and maybe either shoot without the scope or try and known good scope and see what happens .
