Are your a barrel/caliber changer or I’ll just buy a new gun type?

Ah I'll bet the Scout Epoch might be easier. Lol. Flip lever, twist & pull out barrel. slide in new barrel. lock lever. Done. What different barrels you got for it? You just not like the hassle of the swap and retune?

My leishy? I have .22 250mm .22 350mm .177 250 mm .25 250mm (current setup)and .25 350mm . It’s the easiest thing to do swapping and just turning the hammer spring but I still don’t do it. I can use the 350mm .25 without turning anything just adjusting zero

I think I nearly never change caliber on a gun, I like to setup my gun and get used to this specific gun. Learn the gun, and learn to shoot it better and better. I personally think changing the caliber will change a bit those new learned dynamics. If I really want a different caliber I am more tented to buy another gun in this caliber.

Separate guns for me. But it's absolutely dependent on one's "shooting personality". My reasons are, in no particular order;

- No matter how robust & repeatable the adjustments are for a rifle (and scope), would be compelled to get out the chronograph, then check, double check, & triple check the zero. Very particular about my dope (the ballistics kind, never had any use for the other kind :p).
- This means I need to have decent shooting conditions & spend time on a bench rest, which is my least favorite kind of shooting (like it better than any other hobby, but still).
- Don't need many rifles to cover the power levels I want, which dampens the value proposition of switching barrels. 18-20fpe, 28-30fpe, & >45fpe covers all the bases for me. Pellets only, so slug-specific gear isn't a factor.

i think a dedicaed .22 does almost all of what i need a airgun for.
haveing multipe guns with nice scope is costly but i woud rathe save a have a couple diffrant guns for what i want.
i am wanting a smal compact gn so the EVOL mini is my planned next purchase i would also like a .17 cal and that i am unsure of i have researching a few guns.
i want a ghost because everyone say its a breeze to swap calibers i would like to have a gun for playing with differt calibers and slugs more of a play on the bech gun and so far it seams to me the ghost is all that

but only time will tell
if i was weathy i mean really drippen wet wealthy i would just buy a gun. want .17 cal buy a gun want a .22 slug gun, buy a gun. LOL thats what i would do. stack-em up : )

I set up rifles for specific purposes also. The only airgun I have changed calibers is my PP700SA, I have a 177 and 22 barrel for it. When it was my primary pesting gun it stayed 22 cal. It has been replaced and is now just a fun gun for me. It is currently in 177 form and set at low power for the occasional agama that tries to make my shed roof its home.
I want to also add to this. I never changed the 22 barrel to 177 until I had a rifle that replaced it in the bird feeder defender role. I like single purpose rifles.

I'm fortunate or you could say that I've created my own situation, by having set myself up over a long period of time to tinker in depth with airguns. Purchased machinery, barrels, materials, etc, and learned how to do it all over a bunch of years in preparation for retirement. I don't really care for the TUNING process but do like to experiment with different setups. I've re-barreled about every one that wasn't up to par over the years but also changed calibers at times, "just to see". On some, like the Veteran... not that easy but still pretty straightforward. I've managed to set up my Red Wolfs, Ghost, and Delta Wolf with 177, 20, 22, 25, and 30 calibers so far. The DW is by far the easiest if the barrel already is in the shroud. One grub screw for the barrel and 1 screw for the probe with no scope removal. Punch in the ammo selection I want and maybe change reg pressure and done.

That said, there are certain types of shooting that I may prefer for each and certain barrels just seem more solid with certain ammo so that influences what I choose at any given time. For instance, been really focused on the 20 cal so I've had a 177 barrel in Wally (RW) and 20 in the Ghost and DW, and decided to go to the UFT match down in Phx. I've been wanting to shoot the slug class but didn't pay enough attention and ran too low on the 18.9s... whoops... Decided to go 25 cal so I stuck a known good 25 barrel on my Safari, set it to my 890 - 900 setting, zeroed, shot a few @ 50 and 100, and headed out the next morning to the match. How convenient... right?
On the other hand, if I were to go to an AAFTA match, I would choose one that I will never change... CRX, Tsar, USFT... they're just too good to screw with.
Having said that, I started screwing with one that really shouldn't be messed with... my EVOL. Possibly because I don't use it much in its original 22 form, I decided to make a very nice shooting FT pistol out of it in 177. It's been quite a fun project and MAN does it shoot well... AND one of the most pleasant I've owned over the years...
Anyway, I guess I'm in the BOTH camp...

Oh man if I pay $2500 for a gun (EVOL) I’m not touching it and I’m ahooting it as is.

LOL i with you on that!

Oh man we need some pics of this creation

Thanks @Franklink...
As he mentioned, I chopped nothing. Can go back to 22 Standard by replacing valve, hammer, probe , and transfer port with originals. No frame or shroud mods for this reason.
Such a GREAT rifle.
As I mentioned in the above post, Tom would LIKE to make a 177 for us but he is CRAZY BUSY ... Hopefully he'll get caught up then the new Slayer should appear... then maybe a 177 that's worthy of benchrest and FT...
Fingers crossed...

Yeah that’s fine. Scared me

I’ll tell you exactly what I am. I am the guy thatll buy a new gun in another desired caliber instead of swapping barrels and re tuning. I feel like once a gun is set it should be left alone. Almost all my guns are modular. The only gun that I actually sometimes swap barrels is the leishy Classic and that’s it because it’s 3 minutes and I don’t even adjust power. How about you?
Amen brother…and you didn’t even mention having to resight the scope also!
