Exclusive Announcement – New JSB Jumbo Monster Light Pellets Coming Soon

Here’s an exclusive Hard Air Magazine announcement! There’s another type of JSB pellet coming very soon. New JSB Jumbo Monster Light Pellets are announced here for the first time.

They’re new – in fact so new that they may not even be shown at the SHOT Show that starts tomorrow!

These Jumbo Monster Light pellets are manufactured in .22 caliber. The Czech firm has taken the opportunity to introduce a new 20.82 Grain version of the Jumbo Monster.

That makes them somewhat lighter than the traditional 25.39 Grain Jumbo Monsters that are familiar to so many PCP air rifle shooters. Yet they bridge the gap from the 18.13 Grain JSB Jumbo Heavy pellets for those looking for an intermediate weight.

That makes Jumbo Monster Lights an addition to the range you read about recently in HAM with the launch of the Jumbo Monster Grands.

HAM has no information yet about pricing. However we believe that availability will be around mid-March 2024. Yes, that soon!

Hard Air Magazine Publisher Stephen Archer will be meeting-up with folk from both JSB and Predator International, the US distributors at the 2024 SHOT Show in Las Vegas during the next couple of days. Very nice, am looking forward to trying the 20.83 gr. pellet, am expecting less wind drift, but why only 200 per tin? 400 per tin should be the minimum round count for this new pellet. Otherwise sticking with the 18s.

Pretty excited about both of these, maybe even more excited for these two options than I am for the upcoming .22 Monster Re-Re-Redesigns (frankly don't have a lot of faith in them anymore-call me optimistically realistic for the rererelease of them, ie the .22 MRRRD).

But back to these 20.83 and 28.55....hot dang! Excited for the 21s b/c they should make a pretty zippy little alternative to guns that struggle to push the .22/25.4 fast enough. And they might even be superior to the 18.13s in wind resistance. And excited for the 28.55 b/c of their potential to be another high BC pellets for long range pellet-only competition, like Extreme Field Target. I'll be buying some for testing.

Happy to see all of the new offerings, but it's a cautious optimism for the reason @Franklink mentioned. Swore off MRDs last year after receiving the fourth measurably different variant in my latest purchase. Have seen lots of discussion about deep vs shallow skirts, but there were more than just two versions making it into MRD tins.

Having more options really is a great development... but more than anything, I want to know that the next tin I buy will be the same as the tin I'm shooting from.

I've already tested the other new weights, I'm delighted with them, especially the MRD deep.

My Daystate prefers the MRD shallow, it's always been a oddball rifle.

I've kept a few for longer range tests, tested to 66m so far, say 72 yards. Unfortunately the weather hasn't been kind lately. Longer distances to follow.

Looking forward to seeing stock on the shelves, I'm tired of looking for the perfect slug .

That's exactly what I'm hoping for.

I've almost 20 tins of MRD that give me little confidence, so inconsistent.

Any insight into why the JSB web site offers different diameters, but none of the US retailers do?
You can get H&N different diameters at Pyramid but not at AoA.....
That said, using a pellet gauge on a tin 4.51 mm H&N 177 BM...I have just as many 4.51 as 4.52 and some 4.53s....

The smaller count tins are not priced the same as the larger count tins. For instance, the 25.39 .22 come in tins of 200 , they are priced cheaper at 14.99 , the 350 count tins of 25.39 are 24.99 (on PA) .... they price / load the tins on a weight in I am assuming pounds, not count.


I am really , really excited they are coming out with "in between" weights. Now if they can do this with .25 that would be a true game changer for the folks that aren't sure if they want to shoot 25.39 or make the big jump to 33.95 ....

Whatever quantity they sell, and wether that is controlled by the weight or just a number chosen, they should just use the big tin size and put in more foam to protect the pellets better in shipping. Foam is cheap. These pellets are not anymore.

I also think screw top tins work better as well, keeps everything tight. I had to really "wrench" on those benjamin match grades to open em up lol.

I throw out the jsb tins, H&N tins thread nicely and stay closed…JSB are typically a fight or way too loose

Ah, I thought I was the only person who found Crosman/Benjamin pellet lids tough to unscrew!

i like the larger tins. i got some pellets not to long ago and i did not realize they where the small one or i would have ordered many many more.

i dont like the lids on the JSB pellets at all a pain some are to tight some are to loose. i would much rather have a screw on.

The new lids are terrible. I just got four cans different ones of 500 two weeks ago. The 18.13’s lid have been changed, NOT for the better. What a mess!! Not to mention the wife giving me the “look” about all the pellets all over the floor and if I miss one or two and it gets sucked up into her overpriced vacuum. I’m telling you bad times nothing but bad times.

Some of the newer JSB tins (large ones) are threaded, but not threaded like H&N. I really like em. I'll try to remember to grab a photo to share.

i woud not call a few twist lock barbs threaded.
you can turn the lid but it will not screw off.
then you pry and as mentioned the wife is giving you the look as you go to your knees to commence re-acquiring the lead.

Ive dropped 2 tins of pellets in my airgunning time, both times I looked like smeagle looking for the precious.

JSB is aware of some of the new screw tins having problems. They have moved to a new supplier of tins. A good tin is certainly a requirement for high end airgun pellets like JSB. Our apologies.
