Whats your favorite HW ?

Like ke to hear on whats your favorite HW / R's and why or thoughts. Heck you can add one you dont like and why as well if theres a issue in that model to point out.

Maybe just to help a guy decide on his next buy of a HW/R's..

Boy that's a tough one. A lot of that depends quite a bit on your fave cal and your intended use.

I currently have a HW80SL and a HW50, both in .22 cal. The 80 is for small game hunting. It's powerful but heavy, and the cooking force doesn't exactly make for the best choice for an afternoon of plinking.

I'd have to say at this point the 50 is my fave all-around gun, weighs in at about 6.8 lbs, about the weight of your average 20 gauge shotgun, so it's an easy carry. Reasonable cocking effort, and I basically bought it for plinking, but with judicious pellet selection (NYS requires at least 600 fps to qualify as a legal airgun for small game hunting) could be pressed into service for some small game hunting and pest control.

I also have a HW30S due to arrive any day, also in .22 cal, purchased as a family fun gun for pure plinking pleasure. No greased lightning in .22 cal, but I bought it for the light weight, easy cocking, and the unforgettable sound of a .22 pellet connecting with a tin can.

I guess thinking about it and limiting myself to less guns i think ill stick to a hw95/r9 (.177) .. just plain 'ol simple good shooter easy to work on / parts . Just aint liking the price increase grom lats biy of one .. to me there's a limit on what something's worth and kinda looks to be bumping that line today..lol ( im also cheap)

It arrived today. At this point I'm glad it's wrapped in plastic so that it doesn't rust from me drooling all over it. What a sweet little rifle!

My first "adult" airgun was a Beeman R9 in .20 cal about 23 years ago. I then got a R7 in .20 and a HW50 in .177. I gave the the R7 to a friend that had a pest problem in her horse barn. Missed it so much I bought a HW30 in .177 to replace it. Still have the R9, HW50 and the HW30. The HW30 is by far my favorite springer. As I got into PCPs I bought a HW100 which has been one of my favorite PCPs. But my favorite of all of them is my new HW44 in .177. At 76 years old I find I'm spending more time with my pistols just plinking and having fun.

The hw50s in 177 or 20 is the absolute perfect springer IMO. More power than the 30, smaller and easier to shoot than the 95.

That setback is somthing ive wanted to try.. the hw/r could be made more comfortable. It's kinda a reach

That’s a tough one to answer, in my opinion which is subjective, the 95 is hard to beat for a all around gun but lol the 80 and 90 are awesome hunters. Are they that much better/ probably not. Then I love my 77’s which are a dang good all around gun. Sorry no solid answer.

I shoot irons a lot so a 77 would better suit me . Its been one that i like to have but keeps eluding me.. (+ im cheap). Maybe one day ....

I've been considering an HW50S in .20 cal in addition to the one I already have in .22 (I'm not a big .177 fan).

Seems like the perfect compromise caliber in this excellent rifle if some serious small game hunting is on the menu.

Funny i prefer .177 over slow .22. Hw takes a hit in .22. i like my .22 to shoot at least 800+. Hw dont offer that. .20 would be ok but not a so common walk in store . I dont like to be stranded to mail order only stuff. .177 or .22 everyday walk in walmart .

It all boils down to personal preference.

I'm happy with internet ordering, I can usually buy exactly what I want instantly, not settle for what a local Mart has.

Also, I buy pellets in bulk.

All of my guns are 22 cal. I love the smack they make on the steel spinners. I only shoot my springers out to 32 yards so it's no problem for me and much easier to load with my old eyes and fingers.
