Finally got to shoot my pumpkin for the HAM Great Pumpkin Carve! Naturally I used a pump gun (or 4). And in true spirit of the Year of the Pumper, I carved YotP into the pumpkin.
Was 2 hours of fun in the sun.

This morning we have rain and heavy overcast. I wasn't in a hurry to get away from my coffee cup and get started shooting so I didn't start until about 10:30am.
I fired 75-AEAs though the 250z at 50yds (my usual distance). I fired one group of 25 (lower pic), two groups of 10 and six groups of 5 (upper pic).
Today was one of those days when I felt like I was doing my part as the shooter very well (for me anyway). So, the shots on target that were labeled as 'flyers', were really 'flyers' and not me, or the wind, or any other excuse.
I've tried to tune-out the flyers I get with the AEA 21.9gr through my 250z. While I was successful at minimizing 'flyers', they still exist. No worries, the rifle still has more than adequate accuracy for hunting, which is what I bought it for.
While my 250z isn't a match-grade performer, it has better accuracy than I expected prior to buying it. I don't expect there are many sub-$440 air rifles that will keep 25-consecutive shots inside 1" at 50yds! Maybe I'm wrong???

Great family activity. Elaine and I showed our pumpkins to one of our grandsons and my eldest daughter and they want to come over and shoot some pumpkins tomorrow. It’s a lot of fun seeing the tradition of plinking being passed on.Today I sat back and watched my oldest pump her way through start on her pumpkincarve. Had to stop for the night, but proud of her for pumping through around 10(+) mags. Then my toddler climbed in dad's lap and fired off a mag to "help".
Finish up tomorrow and put her entry in with the big dogs (and her dad).View attachment 23925
