Ended the evening with setting up cards for 50 yard benchrest. Mine will get scored up for BillM's benchrest competition. My first time shooting an official 50 yd card. 50 yards from bench, 75°F, 0 mph winds, dusk, with the Air Venturi Ascent 25 cal, shooting JSB pellets. I pumped after every 4 shots (about 30x/4 shots). Feeling blessed. View attachment 23298

Aadjusted the trigger on my newy delivered Buster. Mounted and sighted a Vortex scout scope; 1.5-5. Its really accurate. I also made a set of grips; leather over a wood base. The numbers on this thing are pretty good, shooting 18.1 JSBs

Interested in making and selling another grip set, let me know! Wow what a good look. I have Norma heavys shooting around 725, nice power for a short barrel.

Leather working is another hobby; I like making cool stuff. Feel free to message me and I will gladly make another set of those grips; black or brown,or heck, green would be cool! I have my design work saved, and cut the 3mil plywood with an Xtool laser, so its pretty easy for me to knock of anothe set. I also admit the checkering is laser etched and scored as well.

I also cut out a set today in lacewood. My father and I make knives, sheaths and holsters, but ive never made wood grips before. Ill share if they come out okay

I’m a kid of the 60’s and 70’s and a military brat. When my dad was stationed in Germany 70-72, we had no TV, but a really nice leather craft hobby shop on base and everyone wanted wide leather wristbands and watch bands LOL. It’s like airgunning, it’s never too late to learn. There’s a lot of cool things for airgunning that can be made from leather: holsters, scabbards, pellet pouches, slings, bags and more. I taught myself to make wet molded leather and horsehide holsters on an impulse.

It has been a long time since I have shot the EscapeUL .25 and I got some new 50 gr BTHP slugs for it so I took it out this morning. First time shooting these slugs so kept it at 30 yards just to sight them in. The AirForce utility guns don't really have a good twist rate for slugs, but they are still fun to play around with. With the 18-inch barrel I got them up too 857fps and could have gone too about 867. I think they would do better around 995 in a 24-inch barrel which I do not have. The 33.5gr pellets were going 955fps and the AEAs do well at those speeds, JSB and Hades do well if closer to 900fps. It may not be as accurate as many other guns but with a scope, moderator and sling ready to hunt it weighs 6.0 pounds even and I will take that in the woods any day over a 9-10 pound setup and it was making 78-80fpe with the 50gr slugs. It will make 65-67fpe with the 33.5gr pellets.

Yesterday I working on a special project aka carve with my HW 95 .177 “Scarface”.
I gave it that nickname because the stock is cracked a factory blemish but other than that, it was new in the box. Buying it that way saved some money, so that made me happy.

Anyway, I had to change scope rings, for some reason I had taken the original ones off, can’t remember why. The new ones did not have the stop pin and after 100 or so shots, it had slid pretty far lol.

Sometimes I get a little too focused almost got a scope in the eye .
