I just finished another vintage airgun. These 357s came in 3 barrel lengths. This is the 357 FOUR. It's a clean little shooter

Shot the Condor .30 again today. Got my FX chronograph working so went for max power and started to tune before it got to hot. The max power with the 65 grain HPBT was 916fps at 121.2fpe. Pretty amazing for a stock Condor with just a barrel change and a .30 top hat. I focused on the slugs because I already know the 50 gr pellets are pellet on pellet at 50 yards shooting at 882fps. It can shoot the 50 grain pellets at 1012fps at 114fpe. So far, the 65 grain slugs like to start at 907fps the best, have more testing to do but being a pellet barrel I don't think the slugs will get any better than this. I have to say it is fun to shoot a Condor with this much power.

Organized my pellets and tools. Im a bit adhd so it was needed. Shot my Notos yesterday and today. Cleaned 2 barrels, they were pretty dirty. Watching the tracker for my .22 pellet probe . Should be here Tuesday.

Moved the steel around in the back yard. Got the HW30S out to see how it worked out. I must say that this rifle is my go to these days. I feel confident that if I had to pare it down to one, well, you're looking at it.

Stepped outside for a quick shoot with my 853 before the rain... the rain found us mid-shoot. If I had to pare down to one gun, it probably wouldn't be it. But I am in love with this gun. Much more accurate than me.

Filed the outer edge of .22 avenge x barrel from the shipping damage. And since I had it sitting there I ran J-B bore paste a few times, cleaned the barrel after I ported it to correct size(the port was incomplete and had a lip from the manufacturer as well). Tomorrow the probe comes. Everything I've read on-line shows the rifle is ported 5.4-5.8 mm through the valve/block and transfer port so I'm going to leave it alone for now and see what I can do with it. I have some jsb knockout 20.83 and 25.39s waiting for it.

Hatsan Emailed me and refunded $52.49 from the Vectis for the code Refub15 that I got the Email on right after I bought it. So, I got the Vectis for $212.49 total.

Couple of real nice days here. Thought I’d do some distance practice. Set the target 50+ yds away, 3 shot”groups” for sighting and pellet comparison. Anyway…all of a sudden I realized how many trips I walked to see the impact. I really feel I got in a bunch of steps I know I’d have never walked that much just for exercise as to me it’s boring. Air guns have so many hidden blessings.

Just got back to the house after 8hrs of hiking and hunting ground squirrels. Took the modified Daystar today. The Daystar shoots AEA 18.3gr at 890fps.

Pulled trigger 31-times and killed 29-squirrels! Long shot was exactly 50yds and closest shot was 31yds.

Was an enjoyable day afield.

I pulled the .22 slug barrel out of my EscapeUL and put in the original .25 18-inch Ultra-Light barrel. This is in many ways the perfect small game gun. As it sits in the picture ready to hunt with 2x12 scope and buckrail it is only 5.84 pounds it shows a little more because of me trying to hold it and my phone and take the picture. It can also be purchased with an 18-inch .22 barrel. I was trying out all the different hunting pellets, and it liked the Hades and the H&H Barracuda Hunter Extremes. I was just checking initial groups and adjusting the scope no time to do a real tune. I was shooting around 870fps at 45fpe. I was doing some tweaking as I changed ammo but will eventually end up around 880fps. The groups are not perfect because I was also trying to adjust the scope. The nice thing is that both of these pellets shoot the same as far as the scope is concerned. It will shoot much better when I stop adjusting the scope and settle on a tune. That 800 -1200fps is probably the .22 I think the .25 gets about 600 - 1000fps.

Today I installed the .22 barrel/probe on the avenge x. Shooting jsb knockout 25.39s at 950 it's blowing the shroud off about 3/4" each pull of the trigger. I have the regulator set at 2600 psi and the heavy hammer spring installed and the hammer adjuster half way in. Before I check accuracy I need to find a way to contain this issue. Terminador industries? Or Evolve 3d sells some nice barrel bands with pic mounts but it would be nice to solve the issue with the stock band. There is an o-rings in the stock band that is supposed to hold it set and that is it. A bit of a design flaw.

Also I went to install a folding adapter since I read the stock is AR compatible but the threaded connection with the castle nut is not. Boo hoo! I guess I'll drill out the hole to adjust the hammer spring as others have and leave it. The threads and nut for the stock buffer tube are basically for show. If I want a folding stock I have to buy an aftermarket stock and it isn't worth the money.

As most of you know I like Airforce guns, and I have four of them and extra barrels. The fact that they are single shot has never been a problem for me. They are light, powerful and accurate. The problem is having to cock them 3-5 times for them to actually cock because of the auto safety not fully engaging the first time. I try to be patient, but this has been a pain in my butt for a couple of years. All of their utility guns do it and always have. I just found out this morning that if you manually put on the safety before cocking the gun overriding the auto safety it works fine. But I thought of all the times target shooting that I forget to take off the safety that I do not want to have an extra step and I am sick of it like so many before me. If I had found this out a couple of years ago, I would have done it, but I am so sick of this now that I just turned all 4 of my Airforce guns into manual safety only and they all work perfectly. I can put them back to normal if I want too but I think I will see how far I can throw them before that happens.

Vectis and .177 slugs came today. This is my first Hatsan PCP and my first .177 PCP. I swore I would never have either one, but miracles do happen. I am trying to broaden my horizons. Hummmm Glad the Vectis is full of air and the slugs came too, thats a good start. OMG, where is my magnifying glass.

First time opening up my Zelos for trigger adjustments. Got the trigger to a crispy #2
Long first stage, but that's the way I like it.
Almost no overtravel. Adjusted trigger shoe down a bit to fit my grip better.
Very happy.
Also drilled the buttstock to access the hammer screw, so I can finally fine tune this thing.
One bad thing when I took the buttstock off.
The right side was missing all four top screws
I ended up robbing two screws from the other side. So I'm short two screws per side.
I'll give Umarex a call tomorrow.

This is exactly why I am a very consistent advocate of not shooting guns out-of-the-box. Stuff like this happens all the time. I check every screw I can find first, especially the trigger group and sear, and clean the cosmoline out of the barrel.

Smart move, to make the hammer spring hole, they should be doing that on all the guns at this point.

This is exactly why I am a very consistent advocate of not shooting guns out-of-the-box. Stuff like this happens all the time. I check every screw I can find first, especially the trigger group and sear, and clean the cosmoline out of the barrel.

Smart move, to make the hammer spring hole, they should be doing that on all the guns at this point.

I normally tear a gun almost completely apart checking everything, cleaning lubing.
I just wanted to shoot this straight out of the box.
However, I did clean the bore very well first.
