What'cha doing air gun related today?

The neighbor should report that sighting, Mountain Hawks aren’t found in North America and that one had a wingspan that was double normal. In all seriousness, if it had a 10ft wingspan it would had to have been a Condor, which is possible. The next largest raptor would be a Golden Eagle with a 6-7 ft wingspan. All, huge birds. Sad for the pet, but would’ve been cool to see.

Panther was a large house cat, 15 lbs easy. We have some big birds of prey here in the Saddleback Mountains. I've gone hiking in some of the secluded valleys and it was like Jurassic Park. Hard to believe wilderness like that was only a few miles from my house. Big cats, mountain lions, coyotes, all live up there. I tried to get more details from the neighbor, but the one thing he was insistent on was the size of the bird. Heck, I get 4ft wingspan Hawks in my backyard. They eat my wife's squirrels and birds she feeds. Almost wiped them out last season.

To you guys who shoot birds, more power to you because if the tables were turned they'd eat you in a heartbeat.

After my layoff from shooting due to surgery it’s really great to be back in practice. Today is kind of breezy here and I was advised to use these days to improve. It’s really frustrating but one you get the windage figured it’s quite rewarding. Just have to remember to not touch scope adj as it would trash the normal zero. I even used my surgeried arm to cock my break barrel for the first time since Feb., a couple of times. Good time, stay well all👍😉

Stepped out in the very breezy afternoon sun with my trusty Red Ryder, and from the 50 yard line took some shots at my bell that I couldn't see for sun and foliage. Factory rear buckhorn sight with fiber optic front sight.

You can also so the liquid death can hanging and waiting for me and "old blue" (my '73 streak) to come cut it. Maybe shoot the breeze at sunset on it, if life works out.

Received my optisan evx 5-20x50i and mounted it to the .30 sk-19, it's a much nicer scope than I'm used to. Hooked up the Donny Fatboy w the 3" extension and it's very quiet. The hammerless mechanics and everything involved makes noise at the rifle unlike any other I've shot but I read about that and it's not terrible. I took(with permission) some scrap diamond floor drain plating we cut out at work and I'll be making a heavy duty pellet trap soon. Headed to a graduation this weekend in the country and I may just have time to shoot it and the max 1 longer distances. Hope everyone has had a blessed week!

I did shoot "old blue", but the sun sank quicker than I could fully cut a can. So it hangs to live another day.20260513_201855.webpVideoCapture_20260513-204628.webp

The dang racoons are back. Think I killed Daddy a while back. It's mama and a few youngsters. They weren't under the eve this morning (where they damaged I haven't repaired) ..in case this happened again. Maybe I'm better off trying a different method as this neighborhood is run over with them. Hilly residential area with large old trees and combined sewers. Neighbor has chickens, ducks, ect and since they moved in the racoons circle this area all the time. I walk my dog at 4:30 am every day and I see them running through the alleys and across the streets. I can't shoot em all. Need to come up with a better solution so they can't climb the house.
