Spring/Piston What do you think about the new Ultimate Springers?

It's too much for a springer, especially in this economy. That laminated stock isn't worth almost double the price of the walnut version.

Perhaps I wasn't clear, but I was comparing the laminate to the walnut options on the ultimate springer. Obviously not for everyone, but if you can appreciate it, they are interesting.

They're nice guns thats for certain but I really think Air Arms should have taken a new approach with the power plant. The guys who are going to be willing to spend $1500 on a springer probably aren't going to be looking for 15+ fpe. They should have dialed that all back for nice and mild WFTF power levels. Smaller piston, shorter stroke, something to tame it some.

Oddly enough too, these "new" guns are still not truly ambidextrous. They still load left or right only. The stock (so I've heard) is difficult to hold and shoot if it's the wrong way on the beech/walnuts. So after shelling out the extra cash it still may not suit you perfectly! I absolutely love these stocks on the S510s but seem odd and excessive for a springer.
