Marauder Well it’s almost here

l
I am excited that we are finally getting to the point of shipping product!

I am just relieved that the Marauder isn't fading into oblivion. I am hoping the aftermarket really kicks in too. I'd much rather screw around with a product that is made here and that we can get parts for easier. I am going to put a cf 300cc bottle on and an Arca Swiss plate, and then paint the stock. I am not going to paint the gun because I am expecting some nice wood or a slick chassis to show up within a year.

A realistic expectation is that this will end up being my winter project gun. I certainly don't need it but I have wanted to see it happen for a long time, so I will play around with this gun and leave my other ones alone. I don't expect to be doing anything much on the gun itself so this will be a very casual process for a change. Nice!

I love the 'long rifles' but this one is not to my liking. For my use the rifle would need to be 2lbs lighter, have a tube type air reservoir and have a more traditional shaped stock in wood (synthetic at least) with a comb height that works for a low mounted optic.

I can appreciate what I expect to be a better trigger in this Gen3 and I am sure an excellent barrel (I've had BSA) but there are too many other important features and functions of the rifle that are not reasonable for the average air rifle user.

It seems to me that the designers of this rifle put too much emphasis on shooting it off the bench and not near enough thought about field use.

I get what you're saying, but to me this is more of the same but backwards this time. Instead of starting out as a hunter with a cylinder, people will just eventually mod this to that, like so many did making bottled Marauders. You're never going to please everybody, and around here nobody ever seems to be content either, at least it takes a long while it seems. It is just good to see something.
