I'm partial to Umarex and with good reason. That being said, what is your favorite from Umarex or what may have been and what has it been replaced by? For instance, I really fell in love with the S&W 686 pellet pistol early on. All metal. Accurate. Perfect for the backyard. It stayed in that position for a long time. Then came the Origin and now the Notos. I have many others and they each have a purpose but if I were just going to go out in the backyard with a friend or family member I'd grab the Notos. Never know, that could change in the next 12 months.

Beretta is good one! My wife and I used the Px4 Storm to practice shooting at paper plates on a barbed wire fence before going to try .22 steel challenge for the first time.

Gauntlet gen1, bought when they first came out. I opened the ports, smoothed/lightened the trigger, put in a Hill hammer spring, and over the years have replaced the heavy steel adjusting stock wheel with a 3d printed one, put on a carbon fiber 15ci air tank. I did a custom camo paint job too. I have had it set up to shoot the JSB 18.13gr pellets at 875fps and it is extremely accurate. More than that, it has been totally reliable and first round accurate and has never leaked. I have not had one point of impact shift, not one. I keep it in a case when not shooting it and I don't bump the barrel on anything and never lost zero. At this point I have put about 25,000 pellets through it and the only thing that has broke was a sear spring that I tweaked taking off. The only negative with this gun is that it is cumbersome, you have to be very mindful of its length. The gun case for it is huge, so it is challenging to take places. Its size does make it an easy gun to be accurate with off-hand shooting though, unlike light short bullpups. There's a trade off for everything. It has been a really great gun for me and if I had bought a top tier gun and it had performed exactly the same way, I would be just has happy.

Gauntlet Gen1 was and is great. I have a .177 but don't shoot it much at all as it's been overtaken by my others. Thanks for sharing.

I have to agree with you, i am relatively new to air gunning (about 8 guns, 2 compressors, 1 hand pump) have a hatsan flash, gamo urban, avenger and gauntlet (22 gen 1) along with a few break barrels..... i really like my avenger, but my gauntlet, (with a low end hawke scope) while not delivering the most foot pounds, is about as consistent and accurate as ill ever want to be at up to 50 yards ..... its almost boring how accurate they are, and i got mine for $249 Very happy with it!

I enjoy replica pistols, so Umarex is my best resource, nearly by default. The Umarex replicas that I currently enjoy include: Colt 1911 Mil Spec pistol; Baretta FS 92A; and my favorite, a Colt SA Army Revolver. Each of these pistols are CO2 operated.The mechanics and magazines of the 1911 and Baretta appear identical to each other. I've not had to use the Umarex warranty process as of now, but I've only had my 1911 about 4 years now, and have purchased the others at a rate of about one each succeeding year. Orv.

New buyers, don't expect much for the first 100 or so pellets until they break in.

I love my Gauntlet gen 1 25 cal as well but I also don't shoot it as much as I used to. It's dead on accurate and set up with a 500cc carbon fiber bottle and multiple tunes and moderator so it's lights out accurate. But as you mentioned it's extremely awkward and heavy to carry around or shoot offhand. As a bench gun it can't be beat! The Umarex Notos is my new lightweight carry rifle that won't break your back. The Notos is my favorite of the Umarex offerings. I am hopeful with its success that they will invest a little bit more into the development of the Notos to keep the momentum going forward with it.
There’s a pretty short list of things that could be done to have a massive impact on the Notos in the future.
In no particular order they are:
1. improve the geometry/function of the side lever and address the well known magazine issues so many of us are having.
2. The trigger is usable as it is, but it would definitely benefit from some degree of refinement. It doesn’t need a match grade trigger but there’s definitely room for some improvement here.
3. An option to buy a threaded barrel version. I get that they don’t want to sell a removable moderator. That’s fine. Just sell an un-moderated version with a 1/2x20 threaded barrel. They’ll sell like hotcakes.
I think the Notos is the best value airgun to hit the airgun market in a while. Maybe ever.
I love the Notos and see so much potential in it, i very much hope that Umarex doesn’t make the same mistake with it that Crosman made with the marauder and let it go stale. Let this first year of sales be an opportunity to improve and fix the few shortcomings it has.

I thoroughly agree with your assessment of the Notos. I would love to see them add a .25 caliber version in 2024 with a threaded end cap. A regulator gauge would be nice too. I’ve made few modifications on mine since I bought mine this past May. See attached photos.

+1 on the .25 option. I think that it would be a fantastic woods gun even if it only had maybe 10 regulated shots. I don’t need 50 shots to go squirrel hunting, and it’s nothing to just have a buddy bottle in the truck if I need to refill the reservoir. I appreciate the compactness and light weight of the Notos more than having a huge reservoir and high capacity magazine.

My only Umarex is a Notos, and I love it. I still have two PP700’s in 22/177 and a custom 25. I would like to see the Notos offered in 177. From my history with the PP700 in those calibers, I think the platform is better off in 177/22. My 25 pp700 has a 16”barrel, and it still isn’t sufficient to me for the 25 cal even in lighter pellets. And it just doesn’t have the air capacity. I’ve run mine unregulated and with a huma regulator. The 22 with heavier pellets will get you the same energy down range and perform better than the 25. That’s all in my testing. I recently purchased some non-lead pellets to try and run in my 25 cal pp700 so see what it will do.

Please make it in a 177!

My fav is my umarex smith & wesson m&p 40 .177 cal BB pistol. great accuracy good looks. it's only drawback I've personally found is the stick mag if I need to eject it before all the rounds are spent they go everywhere and make a mess. but that's a small price to pay for a good weapon

Yeah, that can be a bit annoying but good to hear you've learned the best way to operate it. Lots of great BB options out there.
