I waited 7 days for delivery of the !!00z, .177, gen 1 rifle. So far only shot about 24 pellets through it. By the way, this is my first PCP. I have 2 questions, the main question is, The lever for the trigger safety is missing, Makes me not think much of their quality control. Sa for the question, can I purchase the lever and install it myself ? The spring loaded cylinder is there but not the lever. I really don't want want to send the rifle back (it took 7 days to deliver it) If it should be sent back, then I will just live with out the lever and safety. I don't use the safety on my other air rifles.
For my second question, Is there a stop on the hammer spring screw as far as when you turn it in ? Before I shot it, I turned the screw out flush with the housing, then turned it in 6 full turns. How many more turns can it go ?
Thanks in advance. Bill

This HAM post should give you some basic information Barra 1100z Power Tune Basics - Hard Air Magazine

As for the safety, this comprises two parts: the "cylinder" plus a lever that is - or should be - attached to it, thus operating the safety mechanism. I'm sure Barra will send you one if you explain. It's very easy to replace.

I am not a happy Barra customer. I called Barra but wait time was almost 2 hours so I sent them a message through their web site. Waited a week for an email response. They want me to send the rifle back so they can send me a replacement rifle. All they had to do was send me the safety lever. Also the information in the email was confusing. It said they attached a USPS return mailing label and said to take it to my post office. Well guess what, they attached a UPS return label. If they don't send me an email tomorrow verifying the shipping, It's going UPS. If I did not have $90 in extra mags for the rifle I would just go with a different brand. So now It's probably going to be 2 weeks before I get the replacement. GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Proof that a bargain rifle ends up not being a bargain at all. Don’t get me wrong high end manufacturers aren’t that great either. Good luck
I could not afford a more expensive rifle along with the $500 air compressor. The plot thickens, I was told on 2/3/25 that I had to return the rifle because the rifle had to be taken apart to install the safety lever and that would void my warranty . So I packed up the rifle with the Ups label. Now 2/4/25 am I drop off the package at the UPS store and run some errands. Come home to an email from them stating: there is no safety lever in stock but that I could either wait for the part to come in or have them see if they have a return rifle they could remove the lever and sent it to me and me installing it would not void my warranty..They said or I could send them the rifle and they send me a replacement. I was pissed. I responded to that email with: If I had been given that information yesterday, it would have saved me a lot of aggravation. And I thought Crossman was bad. but I'm not getting into that.

It’s horrible out there nobody wants to offer descent service considering how much money they charge whether it’s bargain stuff or high end guns. Most suck. Even bargain stuff isn’t really a bargain. Now you have to spend like $50 to ship it. I’m sorry brother

The only and I mean the only good part is that they paid to ship it back. So it cost me time aggravation.

It doesn't require disassembly to take out or reinstall the safety lever on a Barra 1100Z. It's a simple process I've done many times while working on my two Barra rifles. There probably worried it's got something else wrong with it since the safety lever was missing. Best to get a replacement rifle right?

I guess but it sucks that I don't have it till they send me a new one. Then I'll have to start over with it. I was half way through finding the best pellets at the best pressure. And to boot, today I received the 7 magazines I ordered from them and I will probably have the suppressor I ordered from Buck Rail before the rifle gets here. By the way, I ordered the Buck Rail suppressor because in my basement 10 yard range I got 90 decibels a about 4" below the muzzle.

I've got about 5 Buckrail moderators tapered and non tapered. And if it breaks or cracks just email Terry or Chris and they'll send a replacement at no charge. That kind of customer service is rare these days. They make a great inexpensive option over the other big names out there!

I know that from experience. My first venture into air guns was a Diana Chaser co2. I bought a moderator for it from them. 2 weeks of heavy shooting and one day the front half of the moderator flew off. I emailed them explained what happened, they sent me a new one, no questions asked.

Jake here, I'm the GM of Barra. We dropped the ball on this one. We are in the process of updating our customer service policies and item FAQs. The team was behind from requests from Q4 purchases hence the slow reply. You should have been sent a new safety lever rather than having to send your whole rifle back.

We aim to stock all common parts for our items. I will also address with the team how the safety was missing in the first place.

I apologize for the hassle. I appreciate your feedback and patience in the situation.

Wow, how did you find me here? Yes the whole ordeal was aggravating. A simple safety lever being sent to me would have been the thing to do as that is what I requested then to be given false info about voiding my warranty if I installed it myself. An hour after I dropped off the rifle at UPS, I come home to an email telling me That I had a choice of the lever or to get a replacement rifle. . This was my first PCP rifle and it was an aggravating experience. By the way, the short time Tat I got to use it, I really love the gun I chose Barra because I have your sportsman break barrel and love it also. I'm patiently waiting for the new rifle. This ordeal has bee riddled with false or confusing email correspondence.I am glad you stepped up and acknowledged that there was a problem.
Thank you
Bill Levan.

Some one is still dropping the ball. My rifle was sent back and according to UPS, It was delivered to your facility on Friday February 7th at 2:25 pm, it was received by Rebeka. Today Monday February 10th at the time of this writing, 4:10 pm your time.. You've had my return for 8 business hours and I have not received 1 email from Heather or any other person from Barra. Some one needs to pick up the ball that was dropped. I'm loosing faith in Barra.

8 business hours??? And you’re expecting an email already? I think you need to seriously temper your expectations to 3 to 5 business days.

I know your experience hasn’t been the best but still, eight hours for an expected response is completely unreasonable.

I mean you figure they have to receive it. It’s gonna sit there with the rest of the air guns and what not.
That’s a day.

They have to put it in the system after unboxing it then it has to go to the right department.
That’s another day.

It’s going to stay in repair until they figure out what to do repair it or send you a new one.
That’s another day.

At best, that’s when you get an email.
That’s three days, but I would give them five.

After that, if you do not have any correspondence from them, I and most other people would understand getting ugly about it.

So take a breath and take it easy, this coming from someone who has been known to be a little neurotic about his hobbies Airguns included 😂👍.

They had my return 8 business hours, with all that they put me through they could have at least sent me an email saying they got it If their customer service had knowledge of what they sell, none of this BS would have happened. Maybe $850 isn't much to any one else, it is a lot of money for me. All that money and I have all the equipment for a PCP but no PCP. I can see 15, even 20 days but 37 days and they still haven't sent out the replacement rifle. All because a customer service person had no idea. No more Barra for me, they left a bad 1st impression on me.

I apologize, I misspoke about the dates, It was 27 days from time of purchase till I had the gun. It's 12 days since I contacted Barra. It still does not excuse their customer support for giving out false information then apologizing for it. I stand by with what I said, they left a bad impression on me.

Believe me when I tell you that I understand your frustration. I also have had to deal with defective Airgun issues as well. I have had problems from dealers and from the manufacture.

You obviously know they received it. Counting down the hours isn’t going help your situation.

I learned the hard way, the guys on here will tell you “two airguns is one and one is none”.

Brother, I am telling you that is the gospel! Just the nature of this hobby of not being able to go to the local “Airgun Quickie Mart” and pick one up or some parts for it, if you don’t happen to live by a dealer sucks.

I have been in that situation when my Umarex Origin broke, and I will never be in that position again.

Hey, you’re already in this deep might as well go all the way as crazy as that sounds.

PA has a great return policy, I know. It varies by air gun the better ones have a longer return window.

Find something else to look forward to and take your mind off of this.

Ask yourself, if I didn’t buy the Barra or what I know now what would I have purchased? and do it.

The Barra will work its self out.
