Sonoran To Polish Or Not To Polish?

Yea with it shooting like it is id leave well enough alone on the Sonoran even though I don’t think you would hurt it. Your no longer getting any flyers right? If so yea leave it alone just shooting it probably got rid of the little bur or whatever it was.
I use a nylon bore brush and then wrap it with polishing paper.

Well, I ordered a Corbin Press and .30 dies. The package is enroute and should be here by the end of the week. I’m also going to order some custom dies. I plan to experiment with slugs. I want a clean start (pun intended), so I’m polishing the barrel on the Sonoran today. I think @Pesty3782 might be some kind of prophet or Oracle. As he predicted: when I “gently” removed the barrel from the block, the outside o-ring was in two pieces. Luckily I followed his advice and purchased the two o-rings that the barrel uses. That’s a testament to the benefits of a friendly forum like this.

Sounds like the need to improve on assembling and testing before they leave.

I’m not sure the polishing made much difference either way. But, it was windy and so I’m not sure. The Sub-MOA barrel was very clean, no cosmoline or junk like that. The only thing on the swabs/patches were some lead. I polished it with JB, followed by Flitz. The inlet port looked a little rough around the edges, I’m assuming that it is part of the AOA power tune. I’m also not sure if it would affect anything, but is right where the o-ring was split. I wiped the fibers off lol.

Man, that's a big port.... I'm used to .177 and .22!😅

If you have a diamond file or some fine sand paper feel wherethat white spot extends past the o ring if that edge is sharp make it just rounded so it doesn’t feel sharp not much though. The air pressure pushing against a sharp spot could be cutting it over time
