The meaning of referbished today

I looking at pa refreb deals as usual and it's got to where how is it refurbish?

Like if a Beeman r9 for a example " no sights" like well where's the sights .. how is it refurbish if your not putting it right ?

Your buying someone's problem , and it might have been fixed ,
I bought a refreb scope from PA once, I could not turn the knobs on the scope super tight , I sent it back to PA with a nasty note and they sent me a new scope and the same referb, price ,, Got to love PYRAMYD air ,, I do.

Keyboards are cheap .. but use to and before covid the referb was pretty much put back to newish . But there new disclaimer it's almost like " we did little as possible to nothing to put it back as close to new "

Missing paperwork ? So you don't have a printer ? Missing parts ? Ain't you the factory warranty folks and what about them airgun smiths that do 10 for 10 or the actual warranty work ? No parts ?

My favorite is the r 9 referb that comes with out sights ... Where did they go ? You sell the replacement sights but can't put them on the REFURBISHED gun to refurbish it correctly ?

I was like you and had no issue with one but reading the disclaimer in them today I'm kinda skittish of one now..lol

Very true, all the re-furbished guns that I have bought said that they were inspected to factory new standards, and that's certainly what I'm talking about. To be specific, Hatsan pcp's bought re-furb were just perfect.

Since P A "changed" I've become Leary of them . Not the P.A of old that's for sure.

Probably because the founder retired, not just COVID. Policy and direction changes. PA is into everything now. JSB has been having qc issues since it's founder died too. Nobody wants to talk about it, or say it's not fair to, but nepotism is like a light switch that either works or doesn't. Time will tell.

It will work cause you don't have much choice or options ..

A few years ago, 3 or 4 maybe, I bought a refurbished .22 Beeman R9 from Pyramyd Air. It was perfect, just cheaper than a "new" one. Sometimes, the new guns tested and reported on by Tom Gaylord are returned and end up in the refurb offerings. Maybe they should change it to "scratch/dent/incomplete/refurbished" At least they told you this one didn't have sights before you bought it. Just wait for one with sights or buy the sights separately, if open sights are important to you.

Bought the last refurbished Norica Titan PA had. Less than 100 pellets, but sometimes far, seems great!

From what I’ve heard usually refurbished guns are like new. Guess it’s like everything else you never know. The latest example I can think of was in the A of A used section. There was a .30 alpha wolf. Had the bronze action but red laminate stock. If you zoomed in you could see it said delta wolf. Someone had changed a delta. That gun disappeared (sold I assume) and then woukd re appear a few weeks later. Did this 2-3 times. Come to find out A of A has a 30 day return. People were buying it , returning it (clearly) and they would just relist it. Was something wrong ? Were people upset it was really a delta ? I don’t know but it was weird they just kept recycling it. You might be correct that refurbs are just recycled returns ?

Ok, back to the op. I've bought hundreds of products labeled as refurbished, in most cases (99%?) I've gotten better than new but only a couple times have they let me down.

Airguns? I've only bought 2 refurbished ones and both times they were returned as they were broken and resold without repair.

I had good luck and bad luck with hatsan refurb. My 125 has been perfect from the first day. My 135 needed a new piston and breach seal.
