I am going to try this same question here, that I have asked in my AirForce TalonP thread. I am just looking for an answer on whether it is noticable enough to bother with. If I don't get any replies here either, than I'll take the silence as an answer in itself.

Now that I have the aluminum breech, the hammer strike and twang response from the spring, makes this gun shoot more like a reversed recoil springer than a pcp. It is rather noisy, at least at the gun anyway. If anyone using an aluminum breech from Tony has used the slap mod hammer on their TalonP, I'd love to hear your thoughts on if it was worth it, and how it changed your gun's performance, thanks!

I went with the Trajectron fluted delrin breech. Friend had the Aluminum and as you pointed out was noisy. But putting a heavy hammer and spring in will make it noticeably louder regardless of breech material. Just how much and what tone is the question.

Thanks for the reply, but I still would have gone with the aluminum. I just need to to find out if the slap mod quiets down the aluminum one at all, or at least enough to justify buying.

I just went back and reread a thread on AGN. It was what I remembered, an oring glued to a groove in the hammer to deaden the ping.

Which is why I went delrin, heavy hammer slides are delrin so it is delrin on delrin. There is still the spring twang and a whack but no real clink sound.
