I bought an HW35E in stainless and also have a blue one. I can't say that I'm thrilled with the stainless because the finish of the base metal is matte. The "stainless" is actually electroless nickel plating. It's ok, but if it trips your trigger, go for it.

How durable and rust resistant is the nickel plating compared to bluing, which Weihrauch does well? Will the plating be damaged by scope rings?

The plating should hold up better than the blue in the long run run. If you should incur damage the blue would be easier to fix.

Great looking airgun. Great platform, but you'll be paranoid about scratching it up. That's all I could think of.

The plating is quite hard and uniform on all surfaces, particularly around blind spaces and corners, unlike normal electroplating. Scope rings shouldn't be affected any more than blued surfaces.

I would by one in a second. If they would have had them in a few years ago when I bought my HW95, I would have bought the stainless version.

I know the HW30/50 are great, have not shot a 95 but I've seen good things.

I have Beeman R9 (same gun), and it is a nice rifle, no doubt, and the "stainless" look is nice. But I would be hard pressed to get another just for looks. If I was motivated to sell or give away the R9, that's another story.

Back to the original post, do you already have a similar gun in the collection? Are you a collector? Do you need to thin the herd, as I do, but haven't gotten a "round tuit"? Or is there another reason you want to be convinced NOT to buy it?

Yeah, I already have a .22 HW98. I would say half a collector. All shooters, but since I only go out to the field occasionally, it helps to have unique springers I can enjoy owning. I asked because I’m convinced I’ll get one, and subconsciously knew people on this forum would encourage me
