Ok guys, I sent my NEW stormrider back to Pyramidair and they sent me ANOTHER--That's the stormrider with the quick connect fill piece--So, I bought a new VEVOR ELECTRIC AIR PUMP--The 1st gun was sent back because the PUMP would build pressure but NOT the gun and so this 2nd REPLACEMENT gun is doing the SAME THING??--Seems odd that BOTH would do that?? The pump seems to be working and NOT leaking (pushing air underneath the water)--Has to be SOMETHING simple I'm doing wrong?? I left it uncocked before fill and then I cocked it and tried to fill it??--BOTH ways didnt work?? HELP?? The gun came with a little air in it but it's just NOT receiving the air in the cylinder because the gauge is on "0" now?? Frustrated because this gun is light so thought I could shoot it without injuring my back easily!

Hey man welcome to the forum. Before hooking it up to your gun, you might test your Vevor pump by inserting the block off plug in the end of your fill hose and setting your pressure to 2000 psi and see if it goes to pressure and shuts off properly. You might have got a lemon Vevor pump, let's hope not! Hopefully one of our other members will chime in with a fix. Best of luck!

Great suggestion!

Try a deadhead or plug in the air hose on your compressor. It might not be building pressure. It doesn't take much output to push air or bubble under water, but it takes a decent amount of pressure to open the one way valve to pressurize your air tube or tank on the gun.

Ok guys, I put a dead end plug and closed my relief valve-I was able to build my pump up to 3,000 quickly. Let it sit there for a few minutes and the pump didnt lose pressure until I opened my relief valve. Doesnt make sense that I would receive 2 guns with the same issue? It seems pretty straight forward to me and I have had a few PCP air rifles before??--No air is entering the cylinder for some reason??--

Sorry I didn't understand from the first post. Have you tried filling with the gun uncocked and the bolt completely open?

I'm no expert, but it seems the air is leaking out somewhere. If your pump is building pressure with a dead head but not on the rifle it has to be going into the the fill valve and tank or it would build pressure quickly just as it did with the dead head plugging off the hose.

Ohh, sorry, when I attach to the rifle, it DOES build pressure in the pump when I close the relief valve but NOTHING in the gun?? It's as the cylinder is BLOCKED--I tested the QUICK FILL insert and it is NOT blocked up-Yeah, I can't disconnect the line from the gun without opening the relief valve or the pressure will REMAIN on the PUMP??? The pump STILL seems to build pressure and wants to go into the RED if I let it continue pumping so it SEEMS functionable-Unless it's giving me "FALSE" pressure numbers at the gauge? ALSO, just tried my hand pump and IT is building pressure in the pump but NOT the gun--Problem seems to be the gun- But 2 in a ROW??? That is strange??

Yeah, tried it cocked, uncocked, bolt open, bolt closed--Even put pump pressure on the rifle cylilnder and shot the gun, then tried the pump, then re-cocked it and tried? no air is entering the RIFLE CYLINDER for some reason? ANd i sprayed a soap solution everwhere I could to see if some leakage but if it's not entering, probably no air to leak out?f

The $10.00 24 HR leak check by Pyramid is the best $10.00 you can spend in my opinion. No, having 2 in a row with exact same issue shouldn't be a thing, failing a bad lot of rifles shipped and received I wouldn't think. I would call them back,, get a label and either get a different rifle brand, or make sure you get a tested rifle. Just my opinion fwiw.
Ohhh, and I wouldn't want one of those a 3rd time. They sound like a problem waiting to happen.

I know your pain with the bad back Libraman. A heavy rifle, even sitting, if its not on a rest, or a tripod for support, is a sure fire killer. I use a tripod with the adjustable saddle on it myself. It helps a lot, and it turns l-r, up and down smooth as silk. What is the weight of the Stormrider? Bound to be a few more that's not so heavy anyway.

Ahhh mann, that thing is so light--I think it's 5lbs like my Benjamin Discovery .22 cal was--Now THAT gun was my favorite and soooo accurate at DISTANCE--WOW!! I used the iron sites and alloy rounds to shoot squirrels, doves, possums, rats, etc--Too bad they don't make this gun anymore--I took it apart to put new rings and my wife lost the parts (bummer)--I wanted to cry a lil bit after I found out they dont make em any more--Im still like "WHY"??? That gun was sooo reliable--However, Amazon just sent me back my money on this Stormrider WITHOUT me having to return it so that's cool--Maybe I can get Diana to fix it IN WARRANTY since I just bought it?? I just bought myself a Stoeger XM-1 Suppressed--It's about 6 lbs and I bought the PRE-CHECK for $10 where they fire 10 rounds, check the air fill and a couple of other things--Let's see how THIS 1 works--Seems nice!! I've had a Stoeger .25 cal springer before--It was pretty good--Oh BTW, I have a .30 cal Umarex Gauntlet SL 30--SUPER NICE but EXTREMELY HEAVY ( Maybe 9+ lbs) so I bought an 80+ inch CAMERA tripod (cheap) with a Y yoke for a gun--THAT's a LIFESAVER because I can still shoot squirrels as long as I have it on that rotating extendable tripod--That tripod was CHEAP because it's for a camera but can easily hold my gun because it's all metal--The tripod was about $20-$25 and the yoke was $5 on Ebay, I think--That .30 cal can penetrate 2 inch hardboard at 10 yards for sure with slugs--SUPER COOL!!

Hahaha, I hear you. I got my 2 tripods at a thrift store, both all metal, nib with camera store tags on them, 5 bucks each, what a steal.! Other one I use for my chrony. These heavy PCPs are just to much to carry around stalk hunting tree rats for me as well. I'm on #9 spinal surgery, and the RA on top of it has killed me even slow creeping in the back yard. So I sit hunt, target shoot too. I got these gorgeous walnut stocked pcp's that just weigh to much to carry.

The Stoegers come with a 5 year warranty too. If you have issues, call them, give them info, and they send you a brand new rifle. I've heard some guys saying they have spa barrels, or made by spa? So some are more accurate than others. I've got a .25 Ranger, it shoots dead nuts out to 40ish yards, that's my max I can shoot here at home, and it's a big critter getter. It will blast apart 2x4s like they are cheap paneling. But heavy, and long.
