I cannot recommend it enough! I am on the fence about my next EVOL being a mini or another 15", simply so I can have one long range slug shooter and one super duper pellet shooter. I think the standard is the absolute perfect all around, efficient and long range capable! Farthest confirmed kill shot(witnessed by brother) was a ground squirrel shooting proned out on haybails, 180 yards one shot dead. Its the shot that finally convinced my brother to get oneI really want a 15” after seeing all these great pics. I’m so tempted to sell off the rest of my stuff, and get one. Lol
What slugs do you shoot at what speed?I cannot recommend it enough! I shoot H&N 23 grains .217 at 930 fps with sub moa accuracy well past 100 yards. It also shot the ZAN 23 and h&n 21 grain very well just not as good as 23 hn. NSA 20.2s have printed some very nice groups at times but one second its sub moa next they would fly all over. I just stopped messing with them after awhile. What slugs do you shoot at what speed?
Me too man! me too!It really becomes a problem, its all I want to shoot now!
This is with a 15" , I tried those h&N in my HPS which has a different barrel than yours entirely but they would not group for me at that same speed.I shoot H&N 23 grains .217 at 930 fps with sub moa accuracy well past 100 yards. I know I've been baffled about that from the convos we've had (smackin gophers is my IG handle) . If there's one thing I've learned about guns and shooting slugs through them, is there is a particular slug and tune for every barrel. Outside of that one slug and exact tune some guns just won't shoot! I really wanted my gun to love NSA but it was love hate, I then had high hopes the ZANs would be its favorite but nothing beat hn. I have some of the new hn 25 grain hp II on the way so very curious to see how those perform. I also want to give the patriot javelin 21 and 23 gen 2s as well as the ZAN 20s a try one of these days. This is with a 15" , I tried those h&N in my HPS which has a different barrel than yours entirely but they would not group for me at that same speed.
A lot of discussion I found on the interwebz about the original HPS is that it didn't fair well with many slugs even in the hands of master tuner Derrick Wall, he has a whole thread on it over on AGN. I have to agree you are absolutely right, every barrel has its food and way it likes to eat it.I know I've been baffled about that from the convos we've had (smackin gophers is my IG handle) .
