Slovenia is a small country in Eastern Europe. But it’s already having an outsize impact on the airgun world. So let’s look at Slovenian airguns, slugs and more at IWA 2025.
The two main Slovenian companies in the airgun industry are RTI Arms and Zan Projectiles.
That’s Zan – of his eponymous company – in our heading photograph above. He is showing me something that I feel was a highlight of the show from an airgun perspective. It’s a new pellet sizer.
What? A pellet sizer can be big news?
Well, yes, I really think that’s the case. Given the ongoing interest in wringing the utmost accuracy out of our airguns at increasing ranges, pellet sizing could be something that many shooters will want to do.
In particular, the new ZAN Pellet Sizer offers the ability to size both the head and the skirt at the same time. But to different sizes, if required. I think this could be unique…
So you could set the head size to – for example – 5.52 mm and the skirt to 5.54 mm and do this all in one action.
That’s precisely what Zan demonstrated to me and we can see in the photograph above. Hard Air Magazine hopes to be able to review this new ZAN Pellet Sizer as soon as it is available.
But that was not the only innovation from Zan!
In addition, he was showing prototypes of his new “Hyper Line” slugs. They’re the fluorescent-colored things you see in our photograph below.
Zan explained to me that these slugs are coated with a cutting-edge anti-friction coating. Given the extensive contact area between airgun slugs and the barrel, this anti-friction treatment can lead to an appreciable increase in Muzzle Velocity, just through a reduction in friction!
Benefits for Zan’s new process are – he tells me – a reduction in barrel leading, like there’s none! That will be a big advantage for many slug shooters who find barrel leading degrades accuracy rapidly. Plus, they reduce the risks from lead handling as there’s no lead touching your fingers.
And there’s yet another benefit. The bright fluorescent coating also extends to the base. This means – Zan tells me – that it’s possible to observe the passage of the slug downrange through a scope, somewhat in the manner of a tracer bullet. That can make it easier to observe and improve shot placement on the target.
It’s clear that Zan Projectiles is really making some creative steps to improve airgun ammunition in many ways!
Moving on with Slovenian airguns, slugs and more, the other major Slovenian airgun company is RTI Arms.
That’s Rok of RTI showing me a special version of their Mora platform in the photograph above. In fact, this was a “super stubby” version of the Mora that RTI had built specially for the show.

Personally, I loved it as I am a big fan of compact air rifles. Maybe RTI will bring it into production if there’s sufficient demand…

Below. In addition, the Priest and P-3 are still current models in the RTI Arms range. Here’s a two-tone version that was attracting a lot of attention at the show. These models are an enhancement over the HAM Gold Award-winning Prophet that we tested back in 2021.
Rok tells me that, in the Slovenian language, Mora refers to a “nightmare”. Mora is one of the spirits from ancient Slav mythology. She was a dark spirit that takes a form of a beautiful woman who visits men in their dreams, torturing them with desire, and dragging life out of them.
Yeah, sounds pretty much like airguns to me
