I’m about to make in what my mind is a crazy purchase. But, I want the best scope for the purpose - 100 yd benchrest. Most of the reviews give the Falcon the edge. Which is funny as both scopes are made in Japan by Sightron. The Sightron is roughly $150 less expensive than the Falcon because of Military discount. But, if the Falcon is a better image, I’ll give up the extra savings, at these prices it’s not a huge factor. I don’t plan on trying Field Target, but in case I do that would be a secondary consideration. Anyone have experience with either of these scopes? I did consider the Athlon Ares 15-60, but it’s out of stock and I want it now 😀

Sightron is big in ft ive never used either
There’s some complaints about the ranging with the S6 in particular. I’ve never really needed to use the parallax for ranging. The Brit’s say they’re both comparable optically. I think cave dweller has both, he mentioned elsewhere that the Falcon is optically superior and has better ranging. I’m still slapping myself for even considering doing it LOL.

To be honest, though i haven’t used a lot of different scopes, when people start talking clarity in a scope many times they are looking all the way to the edge. Me i almost never look all the way to the edge im lookin at the center! So i probably wouldn’t notice some of the imperfections. Power to see is whats needed and i shoot with 4-20 athlon at 100 and with 6-24 so i don’t go crazy. My 30 power athlon gets used little but it is easier to see 22 holes in paper at 100
Im shooting the 4-20 helos in ft and feel it ranges well

I don’t see much difference in the magnification between my 5-25 and the 6-30. I’m hoping to get more magnification and a more clarity in the center. I’m also thinking that I live about 7 miles from a 1000yd range and well you never know LOL.
