Break Barrel Screws shearing off on break barrel rifle

The Crosman Mag Fire Diamondback, multi shot .177 caliper. It was my first break barrel and I loved it.Now the intro to my question. 33months after buying it, one of the front stock screws sheared off leaving a piece of screw in the metal. I contacted Crosman and explained the problem. they sent me a new rifle, I sent the broken one back, postage free. New onw worked great. I only shoot my air guns 6 months out of the year ( the cold months and only shoot in my basement). Well this past Sunday, both screws sheared of on the front stock. I sent an e-mail to crosman and am weighting for their reply.
Now my question. If a screw is loose, will that cause a screw to shear off ?

I am sorry you are having issues with breaking screws. That is a new one on me.

When a screw gets lose, it goes from bring in shear to allowing bending. Screws don't like to bend.

I would suggest that you add a little removeable Lock-tite to the screws and tighten them down. I would also suggest that you check your stock screws at the end of every shooting session.

Thanks for your response. Yes It must be a rare occurrence, I did all kinds of searches on the net and only found about loose screws, not sheered. It's funny how it happened to me twice with the same model. I've had the Mag Fire ultra since December, I have been shooting it often. I checked the screws last night and sure enough, the one front stock screw was loose, about 3/4 of a turn loose.I wish that I had known about break barrel screws coming loose, it would have saved me aggravation. Waiting to hear from Crossman and have my fingers crossed they will warranty it. If not then I guess I'll have to figure out how ro remove the broken screw. I alreadyfound a UT video on how to remove the assembly from the stock.

I have a Hammer 4-12x40 scopes on all three of my air rifles and so far so good. The company claims they are built for springers.

I’m curious if your rifle was ever repaired? I had this happen to the same rifle, both screws sheared off. I contacted then sent my gun off to Crosman for repair. It’s been almost a month and I haven’t heard a thing. I have found several other complaints about this same issue with this gun, I’m a bit worried I purchased a dud.

I had very good customer service with Crossman the first time it happened, They emailed me a shipping label to send the defective rifle back to them, no cost to me. They did make a mistake when they sent me the new rifle, they sent me the 22 cal. the defective rifle was .177. They apologised and I sent it back and they sent me the correct caliber. Now fast forward 6 months. The same front 2 screws sheared off. I used the same email correspondent I used the first time, but this time I totally got ignored. I even tried to make a new claim and heard nothing from them. I'm guessing they black balled me. I waited a couple more months of no reply and decided to extract the broken screws my self. Unfortunately after reassembling with new screws, I could not get the rifle to shoot as accurate as it did before, I have no idea why.
