Mine came in the other day from AOA. Upon grabbing it first, what a big difference over the full size .30 I had years ago with a laminate stock. This is a much more slender gun and weight and length is great.
The good: the gun is built really well. The cocking is very smooth and not hard to do. Over the Chrono it is very consistent. Shooting at 910fps with the 20.83gr JSB Lights. Over like 30 shots had maybe a 10fps spread. Trigger is phenomenal but a tad on the light side. I havent "slipped" on a trigger in a long time but this one is easy to do. The buttstock is really nice and comfortable to get behind. I changed the grip to an Ergo zero degree and just fits me well.
I will say i was a little disappointed to see a standard 12 groove LW barrel. I was under the impression it was going to be a polygonal barrel but I was wrong. I emailed Martin asking about it and he said the 12 groove tend to do better than polygonal barrel when it comes to 21gr and lower pellets. If i want to shoot the 25gr then the polygonal is a better fit. He can make a barrel up for any length i want to go that route. But im glad I asked as I plan on shooting something in the 20-22gr range. So ill stick with the 12 groove.
Accuracy seems promising but weather has been very windy so hard to tell. But vertically, groups have looked good with the 18gr JTS, 20.83gr Monster Lights and 21.9gr AEAs. I also need to get the hang of the trigger lol crazy im saying that as it makes my Taipans feel heavy in comparison.
I tried my Pugio on it and it hit the bottle so that didnt work. I tested it noise wise and it was quite loud. I tried my Heartland Airguns Whisper Pro and that did quiet a bit more but still kinda loud. This one might take a bigger LDC lol. Will need to research that.
Just some quick thoughts. Very happy with it and excited to put it through its paces. Will be updating this more in the future!
