Others Ordered my first PCP

It came today
Looked it over, all seems well so far.
Ran a couple oil patches down the bore.
Good thing, it was a bit grubby.
Filled to 3100 PSI on the tank reg.
Pump reg says 3300 PSI
Which one do I trust? I'm thinking the tank reg.
Do you all fill to 3600 on the tank or stop short?

I would not worry about a 200psi discrepancy. Forced to pick, compressor. But the mfg is not going to put a gauge so inaccurate as to be dangerous on the rifle.

I dont have any problem filling my guns to their stated max.

The best way to figure out which gauge is correct, is to purchase one or two more airguns. If the guns all agree, then pump gauge is off. I’m sure there’s a cheaper way, but more guns is the fun way.

Or buy a good 3" digital gauge and put it inline from the compressor to the gun and ignore the other 2.

Do that with 20 air rifles and that 3" gauge is a lot more interesting

Right now I'm going to let the rifle set for a day to see if I get any bleed off.
Then I'll shoot a few rounds, degas it and refill to see if I get the same readings

I do like the buy more guns idea

On a side note, my GX E-CS3-1 filled it up quick

I recently purchased an expensive rifle and its bottle gauge is off by a LOT. As in off by 600psi or more. I just use the compressor gauge, but will probably add an inline gauge at some point.

Depends upon when you filled it.
If it was just before you checked the night before, then no, just normal cooling.

If the overnight temp is cooler, same effect but monitor it for a couple days.

If you haven't filled in a while you may want to check for leaks.

It sounds like you’re OK.

But if you need to be absolutely certain then fill it, let it sit for a few hours inside A/C then put some painters tape on the gauge lined up with the needle, tape covering the high side and wait 24 to 48 hours.

Just remember, the pressure will fluctuate with temperature.

So I checked it immediately after filling in my very warm garage. About 10 hours later checked it in my nice cool bedroom. That showed the 100 drop.
Then 5 hours later after setting in my very warm Truck, it was back up that 100
So I think I'm good.

Congratulations! Try JTS 18.1 grain, take downs. They work awesomely in my stock tuned Zelos.

Interested in your spread and other specs with the 18.1’s. Currently shooting 25.39’s in my .22. Hoping a blind pig can find the acorn.

The regulator is $149.
I was going to suggest AliExpress for the bottle but *Holee Tariffs, Batman*, what was $125 is now over $200.
Amazon has them for $160.

Even $310 is a bit excessive. Glad I bought my spares before tariffs.

Last I heard Wes is experiencing Tariff issues too. Not to the Chinese levels but enough to be painful.

25 yards in the back lot. 37 yard max distance at my place things change almost not at all.

A bit late to chime in but, you should definitely be fine! I hand pumped for well over a year and have never experienced that issue. Lo and behold I grab a compressor this year and start filling my 2 pcps and they drop 100ish psi each now after a fill from off reg. The guns tank would be telltale warm after a fill (even superman can't do that with a hand pump). I now happily fill both my 250B guns to 260B if using the compressor. When in doubt I trust my fill source, or yeah...buy another pcp

Really would like to hear all the details as you get to know the EQ.
Will you be shooting slugs?
I’ve been fantasizing about a hog hitter & think the EQ might be high on my list!

That was great that you could handle before you made a purchase. Airgun stores aren't everywhere.

There are none in my town.
