Well I received a brief break from mother nature. True to form I committed the cardinal sin of competition. I failed to properly prepare. Near the end of my first target I noticed a strange noise that I attributed to something making my hearing aids click. Nope, stock screws were loose. Anyway, after running up and down the stairs to get my fat old man heart rate up I tried another one. Not any better. 🤣 Fun challenge, thanks.View attachment 18709View attachment 18710
It’s a lot harder than it sounds. I struggle to hold a heavy air rifle steady lol. Trigger control goes out the window for me - it’s more like: ‘it’s on target, quick pull the trigger!”

You quickly realize how much of a quivering bowl of jelly you are.🤣 I think that sitting stage is in order. That's the way I most often shoot these days. I had to blacken the bull just to have something to sight on. Fun.

When I took the scope off the Diana and fired it at 10 yards, purely by coincidence the sights were pretty much right for using the 6 o’clock hold for the bell target. So the bull didn’t really impact me. But, I’ll probably adjust it for a center hold.

Targets finally printed, so I tried with 3 of the sproingers currently at my home. Just realized I missed one, and MY 177 is still waiting waiting waiting for "repair" from AV... 😔

Anyway, here are the targets, in the order they were shot, with a pic of the gun what shot em. All were done on camera at the following parameters:
10M (like 10yds, but with a 10% bonus)
43*F
9mph wind (felt like tailwind in my shooting lane)
Standing off-hand as noted for premise

First up, Springfield Armory M1A Underlever .22.20260112_213521.webp20260112_213407.webp

Next, Crosman Diamondback .22. My two "fliers" were called as me, but me is what I was checking. 😉

Finally, Gamo Bone Collector Bull Whisper .177. Not my gun, so I did not remove the 2-7x32 shotgun scope. First shot was the 5, downhill from there.

Great effort. That M1A looks really cool. I would never have guessed it was a springer.
